You can solve this using a virtual machine (e.g. VirtualBox) so that each student get the exact same environment ( which you can setup yourself beforehand ). #OSGeoLive linux distribution is a good example of a fully packaged GIS environment you can use as a starting point ( not sure it includes all geopandas deps though).

    interesting that it is listed. Obviously #osgeolive is not intended to be run as a day-to-day operating system but rather as solid foundation for running workshops or try things out
