I was just looking at #oscilloscopes an see a non-linear relationship in $/MHz as frequencies increase.

#Rigol does well from $2/MHz @ 100 MHz to $7.50/MHz @ 2 GHz (vs. $20/MHz for a similar Tek scope).

Back in the days, #tektronix #oscilloscopes would come with a little roll of solder (3% silver as required by the ceramic terminal strips) inside the case for future repairs.
Maybe #sparc stations should have come with tubes of JB Weld… damn these things get brittle.

I was given a load of old #Tektronix manuals that were going to be dumped. Some include software. Would anyone be interested in them before they go on eBay? They're in very, very good condition.

EDIT: These are located in Galway, Ireland. I'm happy to post to US but at minimum that will cost €173.

Looking for anyone who has experience with cheap 1- or 2-channel digital oscilloscopes like FNIRSI or similar brands. I occasionally need to check hardware at home to see if I've configured it properly, or if the components are working properly, and not really keen on spending a lot of money.

My immediate need is for checking the time pulse output from a GPS receiver, so 3.3V/1Hz is fine.

I haven't connected them up yet, but I am very excited about the projects I will be able to do mow at home.

The #Tektronix 7000-series #oscilloscopes were highly versatile because of the many different vertical and horizontal plug-ins available. Some offered features that are hard to reproduce with any modern scope. The 7A22 was a high-gain (up to 10 μV/div) 1 MHz differential amplifier with adjustable high and low-pass filters. The 7A13 was a 100 MHz differential amplifier with an adjustable dc source that could be applied to either input. Both were introduce in 1969. #electronics

i got one of those cheap little pocket #oscilloscopes off of aliexpress back in late october and it finally showed up a few days ago and damned if the thing doesn’t actually work

the control interface is random madness but honestly i’m kind of loving it particularly for $60 i mean wow
