In the next month of May (but I don’t know the exact day), O'Reilly Media should publish the new edition of the acclaimed book “Java Generics and Collections”.

This is a very awaited release for me. I own a copy (both paper and ebook) of the original 2006 edition, and I can honestly say it’s absolutely fantastic. Thanks to that book, I have an ultra-clear knowledge of generics and collections. So, if you are new to these Java topics, check out this new edition! (I will also check out too!)

THAT'S WHAT I WAS GOING TO SAY!
Flicking through my notebook (I try to write things down when I watch an #OReilly #SuperStream or read a tech book, so I remember it more and can reference it in future).
And… NOOOOO! I wrote three things from "Effective Python" on a right-hand page, and then the pages must have been stuck together because I've just found a blank spread of pages before the rest of the notes from the book 😭

Today is supposed to be a "learning night" where I listen to podcast-type things or read tech books or something. Trying to build habits and feel productive.
Instead, I've read part of a #CraftBeer magazine, half-listened to 30 minutes of Q&A chatter on an #OReilly #SuperStream, and I'm now giving up and watching some #WarhammerTV. #WarhammerPlus

Listening to another #OReilly #SuperStream on #SRE.
One company pitching SRE role as requiring 8 years experience to give breadth and strategy.
Which is good. I see lots of people claiming seniority without experience.
But also, I've got twice that, and LOADS of tinkering in multiple software languages/Linux/networks/scripting/SysAdmin/databases/etc and I _still_ don't feel I'm experienced enough for "change the tires while the car is moving" SRE!

An #OReilly #SuperStream might not be high value if you're listening at 250% (2.5×) speed and STILL following it.
Either that or I know a diverse range of things after over 15 years in software/cybersecurity and I'm not the intended audience!
