Yesterday we counted at least 20 pelicans near the Heceta lighthouse just north of Florence, OR. Last weekend, I went to Silver Falls State Park. They had a raptor presentation, and these are four owls I got to see up close and learn about. They are fascinating birds. (All of these owls are rescues and are unable to be re-released into the wild for various reasons.)

Spending a few days of peace, sketching and music in #CottonwoodCanyon, #oregon #OregonStateParks. It’s on the John Day River in the eastern #highdesert part of the state. So here is my attempt at a #watercolor #sketch of the canyon from the front porch of my cabin. It’s a beautiful place but hot and no shade!
