  1. Upper Multnomah Falls doing its thing—plunging over 500 feet into Oregon's impossibly green gorge. This view never gets old, no matter how many times you stop on the Columbia River Highway.

Captured during a misty morning that made the greens pop even more. Worth getting your boots a little muddy.

  6. Sunset Ship

The Peter Iredale was a British ship that ran aground on the Oregon coast in 1906. Today, its rusty remains are a popular attraction at Fort Stevens State Park. The best time to see the shipwreck is at sunset, when the sky is painted with vibrant colors. The contrast between the beauty of nature and the decay of the metal creates a striking scene. The Peter Iredale is a reminder of the past and a symbol of the present.

  12. Abert Rim

    Abert Rim Sunrise
Abert Rim is a spectacular geological feature in Oregon, where a huge block of basalt rock rises more than 2,000 feet above the valley floor. It is the result of ancient volcanic eruptions and faulting that tilted the land. Abert Rim is home to bighorn sheep, raptors, and other wildlife. It is also a popular spot for paragliding and hang gliding, as the cliffs create strong thermals.

  16. Champoeg State Heritage Park is a state park located in Newberg, Oregon. The park is situated on the south bank of the scenic Willamette River and features acres of forest, fields, and wetlands that recreate the landscape of a bygone era. This is the site where Oregon’s first provisional government was formed by a historical vote in 1843. A thriving town of 200 was established, only to be washed away during a great flood in 1861. The park is home to a diversity of activities, including walking or biking on the paved trails that pass historical landmarks and hug the river, playing the 18-hole disc golf course under the oak trees, relaxing at the multitude of scenic picnic areas, or fishing or kayaking from dock on the Willamette River. The ecologically rich landscape is home to more than 130 bird species, including seasonally nesting western bluebirds and acorn woodpeckers.

  22. Trails Peak

Walking the trail from Sunset Cove Campground up to the highest point of the trail with a great overlook of the lake. I kept the hiker and the dog as a silhouette for privacy even though I was given permission to take some pictures of them. I do believe this trail will go all the way to the east Odell lodge area.
