Portland’s #MigrationBrewing released its #beer release calendar for 2026, as it gets ready to celebrate its 16th anniversary this year. The company has ambitious plans to release over 100 beers this year; the posted calendar barely scratches the surface (though most will be small batch, draft-only beers).

It's such an unseasonably nice day here for February that I opened up a #beer to match. This "33" Oregon Pale from #GoldDotBeer fits the bill, a golden lager brewed for Market of Choice. It's made exclusively with Oregon malt and hops from #GoschieFarms, celebrating the bounty of Oregon's Willamette Valley. Cheers!

In August, #Block15Brewing released a special collaboration #beer with Portland’s #BelmontStation to celebrate Belmont’s 28th anniversary: Block Station 97.15 Imperial IPA. The beer is part of Block 15’s Synergy series, a line of collaboration beers between the brewery and friends. Here's my review!

Oregon’s #PublicCoastBrewing released a new limited-edition pastry stout this month, inspired by the fluffernutter sandwich (that’s peanut butter and marshmallow) — Fluff N’ Good Stout. It’s brewed with peanut butter and freeze-dried marshmallows and is 9% alcohol by volume.

Summer beers from Cannon Beach’s #PublicCoastBrewing are out, one of which is a collab with Portland-based #SmithTeamaker. The four brews span the gamut of styles from hazy pale to fruit to sour, available in cans and on draft.

Bend’s newest brewing venture opens up to the public this Thursday, June 5! #UPPLiquids is the company started by Tonya Cornett and the former 10 Barrel innovation brewing team; on Sunday, UPP hosted a soft opening for friends and family, offering up a first look at the refreshed space and taste of the beers, along with tours of the facility. We attended and got pictures, of course!

Had this year’s 3-Way IPA. It’s okay, but it’s not as good as the last one I loved, which was the one with Brujos #oregonBeer

The Farm to Market #beer series from #ZupansMarkets is a collaborative project, where the #Portland based grocery teams up with local breweries to release co-branded beers across a variety of styles. The latest beer in the series sees Zupan’s teaming up with #BreaksideBrewery to release a modern take on a West Coast IPA.

Oregon Homegrown is a new #beer collaboration project put together by #CelebrateOregonBeer. Two dozen breweries collaborated with nine hop farms, Indie Hops, and Wyeast Laboratories to craft a variety of beers featuring Strata hops. The beers will be available at a series of tap takeovers around the state, the first of which starts this Memorial Day weekend in Portland.

It's #CincoDeMayo today, and I'm giving a nod to the day with the enjoyment of these two Mexican-style lagers: Chela from #XichaBrewing, brewed with corn in the lighter style; and Muy Chido from #CascadeLakesBrewing, darker with Vienna lager influences. I hope everyone is enjoying similar libations and staying safe today! Cheers! 🍻

The latest #beer in the collaborative Farm to Market beer series from #ZupansMarkets has the Portland grocery chain teaming up with #BreaksideBrewery to release a modern take on a West Coast #IPA. The beer is available now at Zupan’s various locations, and I received a couple of cans to review.

Two of the early new releases this year from #PublicCoastBrewing were darker beers suited for the winter months: stRanger Tides, a chocolate cherry stout, and Dunkel Dreams, a lager brewed with chai spiced tea. Both of these were collaboration beers with Portland companies #RangerChocolate and #SmithTeamaker, respectively, and I received cans of each to review.

Portland’s #HorseBrassPub is hosting a new brewfest this weekend, inspired by the Horse Brass’ late founder Don Younger (the “Old Tavern Rat”) and #barleywine of the same name brewed in his honor: the Old Tavern Rat Barleywine Invitational Brewfest.

This weekend is #Zwickelmania here in Oregon, the annual #brewery "open house" where many breweries open their doors for tours, tastings, and more.
Years ago I created this "Zwickel Bingo" card generator (for fun only, no prizes!) that people could print out and fill out during their brewery touring. I decided to dust it off for this year:

Have fun! #Beer #CraftBeer #OregonBeer

To finish out #ValentinesDay weekend it's Thorns & Udders from #SunriverBrewing, a raspberry-infused variant of the brewery's award-winning Cocoa Cow Milk Chocolate Stout. Cheers!
-
For #ValentinesDay weekend it's a tradition to open up a special #beer from one of my favorite Oregon breweries, #Block15Brewing — Love Potion #9, a stout with chocolate and raspberries. Cheers!

#NonAlcoholicBeer drinkers take note: Oregon has an exclusively #NonAlcoholic brewing company in Portland’s #RoamingNoblesBrewing, founded by Marla and Liam Hoban in 2021, the state’s first such company. Roaming Nobles has three core brands, IPA, Pils, and Tropical Pils, all less than 0.5% alcohol by volume, and at the end of December introduced its new West Coast Pils.

It’s official: 2024 was the “hardest year for #Oregon #CraftBrewers,” based on a press release from the Oregon Beverage Alliance. I don’t know if this applies for the past 40 or so years, but according to the lede in the release, more breweries, brewpubs, and taprooms closed than opened last year, for the first time since 2000.

#PublicCoastBrewing released two new dark beers for the winter, stRANGER Tides Chocolate Cherry Stout and Dunkel Dreams spiced lager. These were brewed in collaboration with Portland companies Ranger Chocolate and Smith Teamaker, respectively, and feature specialty ingredients from each. I received cans of the new beers to review.

One of my favorite local pubs still has several fresh hop beers on tap. But I fear it’s been too long since the hops were picked, and these beers lose their zing quickly. So I’m having a malty brown ale instead, and it’s delicious. #oregonbeer

#TerranautBeer, Bend’s newest brewing company, launched this summer with the release of several beers at locations around town, before opening its taproom earlier this month. It was launched by former 10 Barrel brewer Bryon Pyka, along with his partners Peter Brantley and Katie Dunbar. Here's a first look at the beers and the new taproom.

So, #10BarrelBrewing won 6 medals at the #GreatAmericanBeerFestival this year... I know several (maybe all?) of those beers were brewed by the brewers who were fired by #TilrayBrands this year. Congrats to those brewers (who are hopefully doing great things elsewhere soon!) but not a good look, Tilray...

#DoubleMountainBrewery is one of those breweries that, to me, consistently brews solid, drinkable beers almost without exception, and this extends to the ciders that Double Mountain produces as well. Here are reviews of an example of each.

Another of the #FreshHop beers brewed up by #BossRamblerBeerClub this year with the brewery’s liquid nitrogen freeze-and-shatter method is Liquid Fresh, a double dry-hopped west coast IPA brewed with fresh Strata hops from #ColemanAgriculture. I found it to have an herbal aroma along with earthy flavors featuring a touch of peppery spice. It’s less in-your-face than others I’ve had this year but well-brewed. Cheers! 🍻

The #FreshHop beers from #DoubleMountainBrewery have returned, and in conjunction with the releases, the brewery sent me a bottle of this year’s Killer Green Fresh Hop IPA. The other standards are back as well—Killer Red Fresh Hop IRA, and Fresh Hop Iowa Bar Fight—and this year, there’s going to be a fresh hop edition of Velvet Wallpaper IPA too.

Having FH Breakside Wanderjack at Beermongers. It’s a nicely balanced beer, very floral aroma and flavor that persists on the palate. #freshhopbeer #oregonbeer #breaksidebrewery #beermongers

I'm still posting the various #FreshHop beers I've been enjoying this year, and I really liked this year's Fresh Hop Triple Double Imperial IPA from #StormBreakerBrewing. It's got a big fresh lupulin aroma with an herbal touch of yarrow. The flavor has a nice big bitterness with a punch of fruity herb and candied apricot. Cheers! 🍻
