Es war schwierig genug, einen zu loben, den man jahrelang gemieden, um-interpretiert und zensiert hat, weil er die falsche Meinung hatte: Krieg, Klima, Waffen, Geschäfte auf Kosten der Armen: Ein Kommunist "von Gottes Gnaden!"
Und jetzt muss man ihn loben ... sogar #Trump kommt, um sich zu präsentieren, und #Vance hat ihm seinen persönlichen Jesus (und seine schreckliche Frau) vorgestellt, der nur für seine Familie und seine Firma und sein Geld lebt: #ordoamoris

Without #immigration, America's prosperity would be under significant pressure. Our markets are shrinking, and other nations are ever more competitive in #science and #technology. Manufacturing has been all but ceded to other countries (with the remarkable and welcome exception of Biden's 2022 CHIPS and Science Act), putting our entire economy at risk.
Immigrants are great neighbors and, given the opportunity, great Americans. Most demonstrated creativity, persistence, and amazing mental toughness simply making it to our shores. Aren't those qualities worth cultivating?
Anti-immigrants, though, are #privileged, mean-spirited, and as often as not, #racist. They believe that they're owed something, not for their own efforts, but simply by virtue of the accident of their birth on US soil. They blame immigrants (and minorities, and Jews, and. . .) for problems they themselves created.
Forget #ordoamoris. The best way to love America is to love #immigrants. 2/2

Others (including, notably, Pope Francis) have already explained the deep and inescapable flaws in Vance's understanding of the Aquinian concept of #ordoamoris. But those arguments cede Vance's premise, and they should not, because it's diaphanous bullshit.
Ordo amoris is a way of choosing, in a sense, between doing for ourselves and doing for others. But THERE IS NOT TRADE-OFF between what we do for Americans and what we do for #immigrants. Immigrants enrich our culture, broaden our tax base, act as consumers for our products. Immigrants are not only picking our crops (a necessary and honorable way to make a living); they're also doctors, lawyers, and Nobel Prize winners. They fight our wars and police our neighborhoods; they teach our children, and drive our buses. They invent the incredible new technologies that keep America competitive.

a) when you support yourself, you create space to
b) support your family, which expands to

d) supporting strangers (Christ's objective).A #Christian heart is supposed to be expansive, to support charity, not to abandon the poor.
