@FrChazzz I would agree that #marriage isn’t a #sacrament to us the way that it is to Catholics. But that doesn’t mean that the only alternative is that it’s something “we came up with.” While it has taken different forms based on culture and legal systems, marriage is something God created and the basic elements of it, the intent and pattern of it, are found in #scripture. It is never same-sex in the Bible, always hetero. I would say that marriage is #ordained.

I was sent a photo of these photos today. A lifetime ago. The man in the middle is the reason I am the #priest I am today. I conducted his #funeral earlier this year.

22 years ago aged 27 I was #ordained. I'm still serving in the same Diocese. It remains my privilege to serve.

Apparently this is legit and I'm an #ordained #minister now. I didn't realize it was that easy to get this title. It felt like I completed a level 2 quest in an MMO starter town:

"Quest Complete!
Title Unlocked: Minister"

I'm going to file paperwork with the City Clerk's office and then if the need arises I'll be able to perform marriages, baptisms, etc. in New York.

I was inspired to look into this by "The Big Bang Theory" TV show.
