  13. Life is currently chaotic good: The Moth tonight, writing deadline on Friday, Michigan speaking gig this weekend, coordinating 30 people to Palestine in April, Zephyr Point duties, Board responsibilities, plants need watering, and dog needs cuddling.

    That said, because of #OrangeTheory, for seven hours a week, my mind gets to stop swirling. Grateful.

  19. The trainers have been great on customizing the workouts for me to avoid bulking up shoulders—although thats recently just meant my glutes are getting a lot of attention and are constantly sore. 🤣

    I can definitely see this becoming a cornerstone of our weekly routine and us settling in to the local microculture. Never thought transition would end up making me a gym bunny but really this is just surprising new life development #468.

  24. Also got 23 splat points (23 minutes spent at >84% of my maximum heart rate), which is my best (and will get harder to match or beat as my max heart rate increases).

    All of that was on the treadmill—I have yet to figure out how to get my heart rate up on the rowing machines without feeling like I'm going to vomit. I think it's a body-systems-mismatched thing (my arms are so sad compared to my legs) and I’ll get past it in time.

Worked out this weekend 💪🏽 and am in a challenge called Push 30, where we complete 12 workouts at OTF within 30 days, and practice 3 daily habits, e.g. hydrate more, eat more veggies, drop alcohol or candy, etc. i am a bit behind because I skipped workouts last week. I enjoy challenges like this to keep me motivated. 😊 #orangetheory

I was glad to do it in less than an hour. It was a fun experience and my first time doing it after being a member all these years. #orangetheory 🛶 💪🏾 🚶

  43. Rowed 2000m today at #orangetheory and hit a personal record (PR) of 8:37:23 which isn’t very fast… but was my fastest to date. I got so tired of rowing at one point, and my Hoka shoe heel was slipping out of the foot plate so I decided to stop and re-strap it in. I wonder how much time I lost by completely stopping and fiddling with the strap. Maybe I was supposed to row through it? 😂 Either way, glad I went. I almost didn’t… 🚣
    I’m signed up for #DriTri, so this was good practice.

  47. Managed to get in a #workout today. I like to go to #orangetheory a few times a week. I was tired, but still glad I got in there. With work and school, finding the time has been tough, but I’m trying to prioritize this as well. #fitness #exercise #workLifeBalance #selfCare
