Cursed devices with smart power switches - Oral-B electric toothbrush - This is very confusing. The toothbrush turns on for 300 ms every 5 or 10 minutes or so. I really don't know what triggers it, but it has happened several times, and it's quite rare but still repeated. Turning it on and off again, stops it. #oralb #cursed #toothbrush -
#enshittification with #oralb brush heads: the "new & improved" ones are visibly damaged after two weeks of normal use (see photo), despite being supposed to last up to 3 months (the old model did most of the time!).
Given their price tag, my next brush head exchange is a new #toothbrush of a different brand made in EU!
Are tooth brush heads the new printer ink?! -
#enshittification bei #oralb Aufsteckzahnbürsten: die "neu & verbesserten" verschleissen schon nach 14 Tagen (Foto: 14 Tage alter Kopf oben, neu ausgepackter unten), obwohl sie bis zu drei Monaten bei normalem Putzen halten sollen (was die alte Version auch in etwa schaffte).
Bei deren Bürstenkopfpreisen ist mein nächster Kopftausch eine E-Zahnbürste made in EU! Frechheit! Zahnbürstenköpfe als neue Druckertinte?! -

Opzetborstels voor elektrische tandenborstels van A-merken Oral-B en Philips zijn veel te duur, zegt de Consumentenbond. Goedkopere versies presteren vaak net zo goed, of zelfs beter. In het bijzonder die van prijsvechter Action voor de Oral-B tandenborstel.

Neulich gab es ja bei #ALDI diese #OralB Zahnburste zu kaufen Modell 3756 und anscheinend bin ich zu blöd für die Bedienungsanleitung. Anscheinend kann die drei verschiedene Putzmodi. Und der wichtigste ist auch gut zugänglich. Aber wie kommt man an die anderen dran? Die Anleitung deutet an das man den Einschaltknopf mehrfach drücken soll aber da geht sie bei mir nur immer an und aus.. Kennt sich da jemand aus?

My #OralB electric toothbrush has a small, useless OLED which
* Less than two minutes: smirks at you disappointedly
* Run for two+ minutes: smiles at you
* Run for three+ minutes: big smile with starry eyes
* Switches itself off after five minutesIf it runs for four+ minutes, it gives you the same disappointed smirk.
I care very little about what my toothbrush "thinks" about me, but what person designed it that way...?

Falls jemandes Ladestation für eine elektrische Zahnbürste von #OralB den Geist aufgegeben hat, ich hätte eine #zuVerschenken. Ich würde nur das Porto bzw. eine vorfrankierte Marke wollen.

The absolute best part of the #BigEar project is that I can just buy random #BLE sensors and throw them anywhere. Security is such a joke (its just broadcast) but the threat model is "someone driving past might notice that my pool is warm." 🤷 🌡️
(I do mean REALLY anywhere though, within about 4 yards/houses in most directions, using zero equipment outside the main house. Later I'll waterproof one and try it on the fence..)
Y'all shouldn't be buying #oralb toothbrushes or really ANY #bluetooth bathroom scale. Just saying. (And yes, I can probably see your growroom sensor too.)

My neighbor's #oralb #toothbrush uses #unsecured #BLE. It doesn't appear that I can send commands... yet. Nor do I know which neighbor. They are at least 100 ft / 30m away from any of my #esp32 #esphome receivers though, probably more if they are in their main bath instead of a garage or something.
I wonder what sort of #mischief I can get up to... 😈
