Ok, this was crazy: Milen Bozhkov, who sang the role of Turiddu tonight, was a jump in at the Landestheater Detmold back in 2015, as Rodolfo in La Bohème … and I was his Mimì! I thought the name sounded familiar! On top of that, he recently was Radamès in Aida at the Finnish National Opera – That was my friend Noa Naamat’s staging that Helsinki had coproduced with Darmstadt! In case anyone’s wondering why: Although they are short, Cav and Pag are ridiculously demanding! Famous tenors have ruined their voices by singing both in a single night.
Matthew will continue to do double bills, but he will occasionally reduce the strain, since he is also singing the incredibly demanding title role in Andrea Chénier. (And we all intensively practice other roles in between shows. Like, idk, frickin’ SALOME?)
That aside, I feel honored that he chose Nedda over Santuzza! ❤️

In tonight’s double bill, Matthew Vickers will only be singing Tonio in Pagliacci. Bulgarian tenor Milen Bozhkov is singing Turridu in Cavalleria rusticana instead of Matthew.

So, of the premiere cast of “Cav,” only Rafał Pawnuk and Lena Sutor-Wernich as Lola remain, the Alfio/Lola couple. Even if you’ve already seen it, why not come back and see it again!! I woudl if I could! It’s all new!!

Damit dies nicht ganz so einfach umsetzbar ist empfehle ich einen Browser der von sich aus Werbung blockiert. 👍

Bei mir ist es meist #Opera. Auf dem PC nutze ich #uMatrix. Ist zwar dann etwas umständlicher aber die Sicherheit und Kontrolle ist mir wichtiger. 🙂

Nur ein kleiner Auszug warum die #IT-Sicherheit in Gefahr ist:

"Manipulierte Werbeanzeigen seien auch auf Geräten angezeigt worden, die mit der UN, der NATO, der EU sowie Regierungen, Behörden und Einrichtungen der kritischen Infrastruktur in einer Vielzahl von Ländern in Verbindung stehen. Auch Unternehmen sollen ins Visier geraten sein: 20 internationale Medien sowie einige der weltweit größten Technologieunternehmen und Chiphersteller."

Wer sich mit der IT-Sicherheit und der "Digitalen Souveränität" beschäftigt wird den Mehraufwand in Kauf nehmen. Die Werbung ist nicht nur aufdringlich sondern auch eine Gefahr für die Bürger. Erinnert mich an die Mückenplage. 😔
