  1. TIL: #OpportunityEconomy really meant "gig economy".
That was an idea I had about a possible meaning of "opportunity": gigs. But I thought, no, that's nothing you would build your presidential campaign on, let alone vote for it. That would be crazy.

As I learned now from @pluralistic: "Harris campaign advisor – her brother-in-law Tony West – is Uber's chief legal officer and the architect of Prop 22, California's scab law that formalized 'gig work' labor violations."

  6. I can relate to about 10 Million Americans that voted for Biden but didn't vote for #Harris, assuming her being a woman of color was not their main reason.
Biden was an emblem of the good ol' times, so cosy and secure (they were not, actually, but anyway).
If the economy really was the most important issue, I understand how Harris' #OpportunityEconomy did not convince them that meant better living conditions for themselves.
I asked myself from the beginning what that really should mean.

  16. Congressional #Republicans have a different plan—more giant tax cuts for #billionaires & big #corporations, ending the Affordable Care Act [#ACA], undermining workers by cutting #overtime & making it harder to #organize, & imposing a national sales #tax that would raise costs by nearly $4k/year. While they put billionaires first, we’ll keep fighting to grow the #MiddleClass.

  26. “While #character is enormously important—in this election, pre-eminently so—policies matter. Many Americans remain deeply concerned about their prospects & their #children’s in an unstable & unforgiving world. For them, #KamalaHarris is clearly the better choice.
