  1. #Prodatron worked on the sound daemon for his #SymbOS #Z80 operating system for the #Amstrad #CPC, #MSX, #PCW... In his latest video he shows #Pacman running with #OPL4 sound on the CPC. youtube.com/watch?v=4k0BmLr_1e

  2. CW: re: tight constraints breeding creativity

@kelbot tight constraints is also a discussion point that keeps coming up with each iteration of the #MSXdev competition btw; just see the comments on the 2021 edition's announcement: msx.org/news/challenges/en/msx

You have one side arguing the constraints should be as tight as possible to force contestants to focus on the gameplay and clever tricks so a game actually gets finished, and the other side who says it should also be open for later generations of #MSX, such as #MSX2, more RAM, and perhaps even audio and graphics extensions such as #OPL4 and #V9990 and also judged as such.

  3. #GreyFoxNL is currently streaming #MSX #chiptunes over on #Twitch at twitch.tv/greyfoxnl

So if you want to listen to some #OPLL, #OPL1 / #OPL music tracked in #Moonblaster, and (perhaps later some #OPL4 / #MoonSound?), hop on. :)

can't say it looks familiar. How much did this #OPL4 cart cost?

  5. @sparcipx
the only things I'd still like for my #MSX2 is a #MoonSound or similar #OPL4 cart, and a #MegaFlashROM SCC+ SD with 2 slots + 512K RAM cart to replace the Sunrise CompactFlash cart I have, as that would also allow for flashing ROMs and has SCC+.
But I haven't even set up my #MSX since I moved to Norway, due to lack of space and time, so it's not an expense I think would be worth it currently.
