This is way above my pay grade, and I've only read the article, not the actual technical work underneath it (because my maths is insufficient to know what it's talking about, so there's not a lot of point). But it sounds really interesting.
I've never heard of "observer patch holography" (note typo in slug text), but a theoretical framework which has just a single free variable but lets you derive general relativity and the standard model, correctly predicting a bunch of magic numbers that we input as free variables into the standard model, is interesting as hell.
Maybe someone smarter than me has already looked at this and debunked it. Sabine doesn't seem to have done a video on it (or I missed it). And "one guy with four information theory axioms solves all of physics' problems" is definitely on the Hollywood-script end of the plausibility scale, but who knows? Weirder things have happened.
@cenobyte - thought of you, of course.

@lowies @gemelliz @the5thColumnist Fortunately there are still a few public options here in Ottawa - Dougie doesn't control Ottawa Public Health.
Made our reservation at one of two by-appointment clinics in the city. Not as convenient as a pharmacy but we have a guaranteed spot. We can get our flu shot at the same time. -
@the5thColumnist That must be just for those two clinics taking appointments - the Emerald Plaza clinic was strictly walk in.
The #OPH web site is rather confusing - it first tries to lead you to the Book a Reservation page but further down there's a link to the Neighbourhood Health and Wellness page which lists the clinics giving vaccines.

@the5thColumnist Part of the issue was that priority was given to those needing childhood routine vaccinations, or those with no #OHIP card. Also, apparently, the nurses (there were two) needed to take a detailed history from some of their patients if they hadn't been seen before.

@the5thColumnist Those seem to just the ones where you can reserve a spot. It seems that all nine #OPH vaccination clinics are offering flu and #Covid19 shots on a walk-in basis. I just got back from their Emerald Plaza clinic which had these as well as "childhood routine vaccinations.
I wouldn't recommend these clinics, though. We waited 1.5 hours, with only ten or so ahead of us, and were turned away when the closed for their break at 3pm. -
@the5thColumnist Odd that they've left out the 'burbs. I'm closer to downtown, and there are lots of choices for #OPH clinics around here.

Well I guess we are going to be booking our #COVID and #Flu #vaccinations at a pharmacy as the provincial government and public health unit (#OPH) are making it as inconvenient for us (in Kanata) as possible to do it through the #public system.
-
I'm over 65 in #Kanata and the system seems designed to force me to get my #COVID #vaccination from the #private sector. Perhaps there will be more #OPH locations and ability to book through the portal after vaccinations open to the general public on October 28.
