  1. CachyOS and their "faster" Linux Kernel remembers me this ad:

I'm still waiting for comprehensive benchmarks (especially gaming).

  2. Kudos for the marketing barin behind #ZorinOS.

Trying to market Linux to Windows users is like selling a rocket ship as a daily commute vehicle, but hooking into Windows 10 end-of-life was the best marketing move they could have done.

    Hopefully this doesn't backfire.

  3. I find almost sarcastic that the day #Windows10 dies, ZorinOS 18 is released.

If anyone wants to move from Windows, my recommendations are:

    - #LinuxMint (Cinnamon), probably the best for Windows refugees.
    - #Bazzite, if you want to play games
    - #ZorinOS, almost first timers to computers.
    - #Bluefin or #Aurora for developers.

  4. My vision for the future of Windows 2030 is really, really simple:

✅ Be the multitasking OS that it always was.

That's why the name, "Windows" is for. It speaks volumes when I would recommend a Mac to anyone over Windows even if its window management is "bearable".

  5. You know what will work flawlessly no matter how old is your device? Any #Linux distro.

My take? Fedora. Something close to "vanilla"? Debian. Something more... "useful"? Ubuntu. Windows refugee? Mint.

  6. Almost any crap that Windows 11 takes out of its rabbit hat can be explain in one sentence:

Windows 11 was taken over by the Bing Search department.

That start to make sense when you see how Bing incorporated Copilot, hence Windows. Start page with News? Now your OS has News too. Recall? Like "History Back" of the browser at OS level.

  11. Would you use Windows 12 if it was full modernized, without legacy systems from past 20 years?

  12. Plus, you don't have to keep an eye out on Windows 11 news.

    Copilot here,
    Bing that,
    Edge there,
    BSOD or Crash.

I'm completely over it and I couldn't be more glad.

  13. Being a Linux user that made 100% the switch years ago, I can humbly say:

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with Windows 11 shit anymore.

  14. I'm pretty confident that Windows would be an excellent OS like macOS or Linux if it damn moved on from supporting 20 decade old software and hardware altogether.

You can still find traces from Windows 3.11 in the OS, just for compatibility reasons.

Of course, now that the Bing team is in charge of Windows, I hope the OS burns to the ground so people move on to macOS and Linux.

  15. ♲ @[email protected]: For some reason of the destiny I recently had to deal with two of the #operativesystem I dislike the most, namely: #windows https://social.isurf.ca/search?tag=windows and #android https://social.isurf.ca/search?tag=android. I honestly admit to be have a lot of prejudices against those because the companies behind them, however if we put apart irrational feelings both have something in common and this is what really annoying me...

Both are dramatically complicated, cryptic, redundant and obsessively nested. With both you can dig eternally in options that hide others options that require options to setup other options, and eventually you lost yourself in this obscure maze of options and you do not get why to change something you had to do all these excessive steps. Even If I don't like MacOS either, at least, it embraces the Unix philosophy and everything is quite next to you just right at a couple of clicks and nothing more, the same for Linux obviously.

I can understand the mess up behind Windows, it was always been a mess even when it wasn't the most diffuse #OS, it was just badly designed from the beginning. But android, which actually decided to not embrace the Unix philosophy, has been intentionally design like the way it is, and this is quite nasty. I can't avoid to think that both os are designed to be against the users and not to help them to achieve their tasks, both are designed to be annoying and discouraging any individual activity by the users.

I mean how can you like any operative system with this nasty behavior?

Sorry to share it, but I forgot a bunch of hash tags 😅
