I går deltok jeg i den første SvømOslo! Et folkesvømmearrangement fra Badstueforeningen's Sukkerbiten området. Skikkelig moroog lav terskel.
Jeg svømte 1000m. Neste år vil jeg prøve 2000m-løypa. Kanskje du er med neste år du også?
Dette var ingen konkurranse, men jeg ble veldig fornøyd med tiden (litt under 20 min), godt hjulpet av våtdrakten.

Is there something like an #open / #opensource sports watch?
Looking for #advice :
LLMs tell me that #garmin would have the best #Linux support.
I would love to buy a #pebble , but I want to use it for #openwaterswimming . And while there seems to be some support for „swimming“ , I read about some people facing issues with water entering.I actually don’t need notifications.
Ideally, I want to track exercises (mostly runs, calisthenics and swimming).Advice appreciated.

Technically, this is illegal. I hope that the #FlussbadBerlin initiative will be able to change the legal situation regarding swimming in #spree .

Der Verein Flussbad Berlin e.V. lädt für den Donnerstagabend (20. August) wieder zur Mit-Schwimm-Demo ein. Unter dem Motto „FLUSS BADEN: Das VOLKSBAD für ganz BERLIN!“ wird wieder gegen das 101 Jahre alte, pauschale Badeverbot in der #spree demonstriert.
Die Aktion wird auch vom #volksbad der Volksbühne #berlin unterstützt. Das Volksbad bleibt an diesem Tag geschlossen.

Wer sich fragt, wie eine innerstädtische Abkühlung in #berlin aussehen könnte, der kann sich mal die Bilder der letzten #FlussbadBerlin Demo anschauen.
Und wer denkt, dass man genau das braucht, der kann dann auch zur nächsten Demo am 20. Juli / 20. August / 20. September kommen.

The next Swim-Along Demo in #berlin will take place tomorrow (06/20).
Meeting point is Schinkelplatz (next to U-Bahn station Museumsinsel).
Start is at 01:00 PM CEST. Swimming will be possible between 01:30 PM and 04:00 PM.More information can be found on the homepage of #flussbadberlin .

Radfahren 🚴 und Laufen 🏃 geht fast überall, Schwimmen 🏊 ist unterwegs oft die größte Herausforderung.

Is there a spot for open water swimming around the Meatpacking District?
This is a question for the #openwaterswimming community here on mastodon:
I’m travelling to #nyc soon and will stay around the mentioned district.
I just learned about the Gansevoort Peninsula, which sounds perfect. But swimming seems to be prohibited there explicitly. But how is this handled in real life? Would anyone mind a random dude dipping into the river for five minutes in the early morning?

The first swim-along demo 2026 is taking place on Wednesday.#flussbadberlin aims to abolish the 101-year-old law which prohibits people from swimming in the #spree .
While this measure made sense at the time, water quality improved significantly, can be measured reliably, and is good enough for swimming for most of the time.We expect a colourful and joyful event. ☀️ 🧜♂️ 🏊♂️🏊♀️

Am 20. ist in #berlin Badetag.
Der #flussbad Verein lädt in diesem Jahr weiter zur Schwimm-Demo ein. Ziel ist die Abschaffung des Badeverbots, welches seit 101 Jahren gilt. Messungen haben gezeigt, dass die Wasserqualität heutzutage fast das ganze Jahr über gut ist. Ein einfaches Ampelsystem könnte das Schwimmen also wie in anderen Städten ermöglichen.
Am 20. Mai findet die erste Demo statt. Zwischen 17:30 und 19:00 darf man im Rahmen der Veranstaltung in die #spree steigen. Die Wasserqualität wird natürlich überwacht.
Im vergangenen Jahr war das eine sehr fröhliche und bunte Veranstaltung.

Meine #freiwasserschwimmen Saison in der #kielerfoerde hat begonnen, 11 Grad Wasser, 16 Grad Luft, 750 Meter am ersten Tag, is‘ okay.

A foggy day at the North Sea on Nordstrand in December 2025. Went for a – short! – swim in 6°C water. – And then to the public pool for a longer swim in water that's 20 (℃) degrees warmer.
