Der #flussbad Verein lädt in diesem Jahr weiter zur Schwimm-Demo ein. Ziel ist die Abschaffung des Badeverbots, welches seit 101 Jahren gilt. Messungen haben gezeigt, dass die Wasserqualität heutzutage fast das ganze Jahr über gut ist. Ein einfaches Ampelsystem könnte das Schwimmen also wie in anderen Städten ermöglichen.
Am 20. Mai findet die erste Demo statt. Zwischen 17:30 und 19:00 darf man im Rahmen der Veranstaltung in die #spree steigen. Die Wasserqualität wird natürlich überwacht.
Im vergangenen Jahr war das eine sehr fröhliche und bunte Veranstaltung.

Why do adult beginners sink? It's usually not "heavy bones." It's the Teeter-Totter Effect.
When we panic, we lift our heads. When the head goes up (the lever), the legs must go down.
In this episode, we explore how to override that instinct and "Press the Buoy" to find natural balance. A good listen if you want to understand the mechanics of relaxation.

Swimming Tip: If you struggle with sinking legs, stop kicking harder. It's likely a buoyancy issue caused by head position.
Think of your body as a see-saw. Your lungs are the pivot point. If you lift your head (even slightly) to "stay up," your legs have to drop.
The solution is the "Sink-to-Float" drill. It teaches you to press your chest down and trust the water's support.

Não se engane, eu passei uns 40min lutando com minha mente pra conseguir ir nadar hj, sem treino, só entrar na água. O planejado era ir de 5:00, mas cheguei lá de umas 6h40, espero melhorar a constância nesse esporte este ano. #nataçãoNoMar #openwater #openwaterswimming

"Kalt baden und für die Sache brennen!" 🥶 🔥Es geht um die Abschaffung des Schwimmverbots, aber auch um Pläne der Stadt die finanzielle Unterstüzung des Flussbad Gartens zu beenden.
Ebenfalls dieses Wochenende startet die Ausstellung "On Water" im #humboldtforum . Dort ist das Flussbad Berlin Projekt auch vertreten.

- English Channel: 33km, 6:45h (new record)
- Moloka‘i Channel: 44km, 9:55h (new record)
- Cook Strait: 23km, 5:12h
- Strait of Gibraltar: 14km, 2:51h
- Tsugaru Strait: 20km, 8:43h

Y'day I made a huge step forward: #swimming a small piece of the flow without being able to stand (that's what I usually did so far: go for a swim where I CAN stand anytime).
Additional achievement: practised getting out of the water at the dedicated get-out-place (yes, they do have these around here as the current is so strong that you don't even need to *think* about swimming back as in the See-Rhein).
