Just had a thought, as I watch OpenNMS's parent company slowly ruin them.
#OpenNMS was started by former HP #OpenView consultants who were tired of having to work around shitty proprietary monitoring tools and said, “surely we can do better than this!" and set out to make their own.
In 2015, HP spun off their enterprise business into HPE. HPE eventually became a customer of OpenNMS.
So really, we won! We completed our mission. Anything remaining after is just rolling credits.

Good point here: while #Supersport, the #SABC, and #Openview are all squabbling over local #sport rights, international #streaming players might just come in and snap them up. #SouthAfrica #TV

Oooh, this issue of #sport broadcasting rights in #SouthAfrica is heating up fast!
"This is a very friendly warning," said our sport minister. "Fix this thing before we declare war!"

Multichoice, the owner of #SuperSport in #SouthAfrica, which is the single biggest broadcaster of #sport in the country -- if not the continent -- sublicenses some content to the state broadcaster, the SABC.
However, it includes a clause in that sublicensing agreement that prevents the SABC from showing the content when broadcast over #OpenView, which is the only other satellite TV provider in the country.
The #SABC can broadcast that content over its terrestrial or digital networks, and on its own streaming service, but not over Openview.
This first garnered widespread attention during last year's rugby world cup, when, after getting all excited about the fact non-SuperSport subscribers would be able to see the South African games, we realised that we couldn't watch them on Openview.
Openview took #Multichoice to court over that, and now it seems like they're starting to get some relief....
