  1. The ATL RIDES trip planner (atlrides.com) now has real-time train updates and can find itineraries using MARTA Reach!

  2. If you use #OpenTripPlanner #Valhalla or #MOTIS for routing on top of #OpenTripPlanner, you are likely regularly downloading "*.osm.pdf" files.

Some of these are huge and slow to download. But there's a way to download 99% less data, speeding up the process a lot.

Add pyosmium 4 to your workflow and it can patch these files instead of doing full re-downloads. Works great with GeoFabrik!

  3. @awinkler for which region? For car only routing there exist several (#graphhopper, #osrm, #valhalla ), for transit routing, data availability is still an issue. The #transitous project is the largest free instance I‘m aware of. For smaller regions, you might self-host e.g. an #OpenTripPlanner or #MOTIS instance transitous.org/

  8. v3.0 of my "Walk Potential" software has been released. This an #UrbanPlanning #mapping tool used in planning to quantify the number of "interesting" places nearby to walk. Useful metric for demand to fix sidewalk network gaps.

First reply with a boundary polygon for their city wins free Walk Potential analysis for that city.
