That's strange. I'm able to use Open Street Map (web interface) to get directions without an account.

FYI, don't use the "start mapping" button. I think that's for adding map info.

Enter the start address and then click on the blue arrow button (see image). Then another field will show up for the second address and you can switch the boxes for start and destination.

I recently spent a couple of days in Lavagna and Chiavari, Italy, & for the past year I've been using OpenStreetMaps almost exclusively. OSM in- and outside Lavagna was like having super-hero specs that could see across multiple EM bands. Where I would have been floating an a vast green/gray expanse on Google, OSM showed me every path, stairway, bench, and shack.

Here's the area I was hiking to a couple of old churches in Cavi, east of Lavagna.

Hatte heute comaps installiert.
Da stand : intuitiv zu bedienen 😳

Habe versucht eine einfache Fahrradtour zu planen.
Habe es geschafft einen Punkt zu erstellen, habe ihm einen Namen gegeben weil das Programm das wollte. Er ließ sich nicht mehr löschen.
Habe keine Möglichkeit gefunden die ganze Tour zu verwerfen und was neues zu planen.
Intuitiv ? Nicht für normale Menschen ohne IT Hintergrund ^^

Habe das Programm wieder gelöscht. Schade eigentlich.

Drat, OSM has blocked my server for (too much tile usage). All public safety alerts. Anyone have an OSM tile server they don't mind me hitting for images? I guess too many wildfire evacuations and tornado warning and whatnot all in the last week.

(I do *not* want to have to set up a tile server myself).

Nog måste det finnas ett sätt att importera en befintlig karta i Open Streetmaps till en kartapp?

Exempelvis: Udda utflykter har en OSM-karta (https://uddautflykter.se/kartan/) som ju vore trevlig att ha som ett lager i CoMaps.

Men hur kan jag importera eller prenumerera på den kartan i min egen kartapp?

Dank #OpenStreetMaps, viel eher den dort eingebundenen Satellitenbildern, weiß ich nun das einige Menschen hier im Kaff keinen Garten hinterm Haus haben sondern einen Schloßpark.
Am Ortsrand sind landwirtschaftlich genutzte Flächen auf denen Traktoren hoch und runter fahren ... und die sind flächenmäßig kleiner.

I tried to use #osmand #openstreetmaps android app on travel. I must say it's rather useless for anything but zooming maps. Can't hide POIs and search doesn't find street names which I can see on map. 😔

Supermärkte! Spielhallen! Steuerbüros! Gastronomen! Briefkästen! Hydranten! Und leider den ein oder anderen Leerstand ...
Aus schierem Bewegungsdrang und weil ein Blick in die Apps ein ganz klares "hier muss was gemacht werden!" signalisierte, bin ich heute los und habe all diese Dinge (und mehr) in das Kartenmaterial von #openstreetmaps eingepflegt.
In beinahe gänzlich unerschlossenen Innenstädten ist es ein Stück frustrierend, steht man doch minutenlang an einem Fleck und trägt Gebäude für Gebäude, Laden für Laden, Sitzbank für Sitzbank, etc. ein.
Nicht falsch verstehen: toll war es und Spaß hat es gemacht.
