    "Exploring the Landscape of Innovation: A Network-Based Approach for Visualizing and Analyzing Heterogeneous Patent Graphs"

    Patent applications are rising, 3.4 million filed in 2021 alone. André Rattinger of Technical University Graz explained how retrieval, categorisation + visualisation of this huge number of patents can be tackled e.g. by combining unstructured with structured data to create patent graphs.

  22. 🤔 What does 'open' or ‘freedom' mean in the context of #SearchEngines?

    At this year's #OpenSearchSymposium #ossym23 Manuel Theophil from @rptu_transfer tackled questions that reach "beyond ethics". As per this motto he covered a wide spectrum from "myth to logos", from philosophy via technicism and tech solutionism to human rights education … and encouraged the mainly technology-oriented audience to reflect on non-technical issues.
