  1. Just completed the course:

"Modernize Integration with SAP Integration Suite"

It was awful, but there were a few interesting nuggets in it.

Far too much self aggrandisement from SAP and some very naΓ―ve views of how real businesses work.

  2. Note to self: in future if you can't sleep watch an training course video, you'll be drifting off in no time. Yesterday was tedious and full of marketing puff, today is just tedious and dull in the way that only can be.

Don't think even tea can help!

  3. We just reached our first milestone: over 1,000 learners enrolled in our upcoming #Python 🐍 #MOOC on #openHPI πŸ₯³

Let's see if we can get to the +40.000 participants we had last time on #openSAP.

πŸ‘‰ If you’d like to join and learn #Python, you can still sign up here: open.hpi.de/courses/python2025

  4. Do you think killing #openSAP is the most stupid think #SAP could do regarding learning? Behold! I learned yesterday that #SAP doesn't allow individuals to sign up for #SAP #BTP free tier anymore. Instead, sign up is limited to companies.

This effectively blocks anyone trying to learn about #BTP from doing so.

I know that there is the 90 day trial option. But this is not the same as it is limited to 90 days. This limit reduces the applicable use cases massively. (1/n)

  5. If only #SAP had some kind of #MOOC platform where they could offer some of the essential courses free of charge. πŸ€”

Another big problem is the high entry barrier to the #SAP ecosystem. Try to create a simple Hello World in #ABAP and compare this to the effort required in other ecosystems. Let alone getting access to an #S4HANA system to learn about basic customizing.

  6. As #SAP discontinious the #openSAP #MOOC platform, I will migrate the videos from our #Python 🐍 for beginners course to #yt .

I created a playlist that will eventually contain all videos.

  7. @antonio learning.sap.com is missing lots of features of #openSAP. Even if some content will be migrated lots of valuable information will be lost. For example, I doubt, that the discussion will be migrated from #openSAP to learning.sap.com

  8. In this context killing #openSAP, the one solution that really works, is an incredibly stupid and short sighted thing to do.🀦

  9. Thanks to the whole team at #openSAP for your great work over the last 10 years. It was a pleasure creating a course together with you! πŸ‘

  10. #SAP kills #openSAP. Read the announcement here: open.sap.com/news#post_da35347

In my opinion #openSAP was by far the best platform #SAP had to offer in the area of learning and education. Over the years several high quality courses were produced by the #openSAP team. In most cases the presenters of the courses were the people working directly on the respective solution or technology. As a result there is lots of high quality content on #openSAP. This will soon all be gone.

  11. @sboll Thanks. I'm glad to hear that.

We are currently in the process of planning part 2. We will also ask the participants of part 1 about their whiches for part 2. Expect some communication form #openSAP in the upcoming weeks.

  12. <News/> = there are no news 🀷🏼
