Since I was already running Mosquitto as #MQTT broker, I flashed #OpenMqttGateway on an #ESP32 module with a 433MHz receiver and got myself a non-smart weather station.
Alternately you could use #RTL433 and an #RTLSDR dongle to receive the data (or data from your neighbors weather stations).My station is from LaCrosse, but there are other supported brands.

Gestern versucht was mit #OpenMQTTGateway und ttgo #Lora ESP32 Board aufzusetzen. Weder die Build von #gitpod noch selbstkompilierten Binaries mit PlatformIO wollten starten. Grund war dann wohl dass die aktuelle Version auf dem Board broken ist, weil zuwenig Flash. Danke für nichts! Darf wohl jeder selber rausfinden. Älteres Binary läuft

Indoors I also use several Aqara #Zigbee sensors and #Zigbee2MQTT to get the data into #HomeAssistant. Placing one of those (indoor) sensors outside wasn’t all that successful.
Now I have a Lacrosse TX141W weather station outside that transmits on 433MHz and use #OpenMqttGateway running on an #Esp32 #LoRa board to receive those messages. There many sensors that are supported by the #rtl_433 and #rtl_433_ESP libraries that can be used.
