  1. In my life, I’ve help make thousands of videos about social and environmental issues.

After all that time working with moving images, I thought it was time to try a different medium - short stories.

This is a small experiment in using storytelling to explore #climatechaos, place, and the everyday realities of where we live.

A story about my local city, #Oxford, and going with the flow.

  4. Every #canadian needs to speak out against bill C-22. It would force tech companies to build surveillance backdoors into their products and will lead to a mass exodus of technology companies from Canada, not to mention the blocking of popular communications tools like Signal and Whatsapp

#Openmedia makes it really easy to speak out. They have a tool here action.openmedia.org/page/1887

Please boost and share to reach as many Canadians as possible

#OpenMedia "Civil Society to Parliament: Kill Bill C-22"
    openmedia.org/press/item/civil

Quote: "Today's letter sounds the alarm on sweeping new powers in Bill C-22 that would let the government force any digital service - telecoms, messaging apps, cloud services, AI tools, even "smart" devices - to record and retain up to a full year of detailed metadata on every person in Canada and abroad, including physical location data and who they interact with online."

Anyone who is concerned can add their name to this campaign (please do)
    action.openmedia.org/page/1887
to have a letter sent to their MP.

    I recommend following @OpenMediaOrg

In 2012 the push-back from many Canadians was enough to convince PMSH to kill bill C30 (similar in nature to Bill C22)

A surveilled society is not free.
    Resistance is not futile!

  13. action.openmedia.org/page/1878 "Protect Canadian democracy: Sunset Bill C-4!
Every day, ordinary Canadians navigate a digital world where our personal habits are constantly tracked and used to surveil and manipulate us. We rely on privacy laws for protection. Yet, federal political parties are using Bill C-4 to exempt themselves from the laws everyone else follows, bound by no rules other than their own self-written privacy policies. In the age of AI, that is a massive threat to the health of our democracy.1

The Senate has offered the House a compromise: a three-year sunset clause for C-4, during which they could create real, enforceable privacy rules for political parties.2 But with less than a week until the House decides, rumours suggest MPs will reject the deal."

  36. action.openmedia.org/page/1674 says: "Fix Canadian media NOW!
Do you ever feel like the news is just exhausting—endless shouting matches or, worse, something you can’t trust at all?1 That’s a sign that Canada’s news landscape is broken—and it’s time we fix it!

We need news that informs, not divides. But local news outlets are vanishing,2 while algorithm-driven platforms control the narratives we see to maximize their profits and clicks.3,4

Our media system is failing the people it’s meant to serve. It’s time to rebuild a diverse, strong, and local media ecosystem—one that delivers independent and trustworthy reporting from a range of perspectives.5,6 Tell Canada’s leaders to take action and fix Canadian media NOW!"
