Da wird gegen ein #illegales #Portal geklagt, was ja richtig ist, nur ist das völlig erfolglos. Die #Provider sperren den #DNS Eintrag auf ihren Servern und das wars. Die Seite ist weiterhin da. Wer allerdings #opendns & co nutzt als dns #Server in seinem #Router bekommt von der Sperre nichts mit. Wenn man was ändern will muss man die Betreiber ausfindig machen und die Server abschalten.

Last week I finished logging #OpenDNS being used to block #GMail login's.
Put simply OpenDNS would block connections TO https://mail.google.com via DNS. I logged this over a 72+hr period btw. 😅
Luckily all these dumb DNS things caught the attention of several ppl at #Cisco.

Und dabei hat ein DNS-Server genau eine Aufgabe: DNS-Anfragen korrekt beantworten.

Hintergrund: Ex-Kollege hat zu Hause eine fixe IP, symmetrisches (?) Gigabit - also warum nicht ein Mattermost betreiben für die anderen Ex-Kollegen, also die Alumni?
Und mein pihole hatte OpenDNS als (einen) Upstream.
Also doch wieder Google und Cloudflare, die lassen wenigstens die Finger vom DNS.
Oder hat jemand einen Tipp für andere, verläßliche öffentliche rekursive Resolver? DNSSEC ist zwingend. -

OpenDNS = Would rather stop serving an entire country than capitulate
Cloudflare = Blocks the IP but gives an explicit error message stating that it is being forced to do so.
Google DNS = Complete & total submission, DNS won't resolve, leaves customers in the dark.

Over at #Cisco #OpenDNS (https://opendns.com/), when I enter a new login email address, it says it's sending me an email message to confirm the change, and indeed it does send the email, but clicking the confirmation link doesn't work. I tested this with non-anonymized addresses, not just an #AnonAddy address, so apparently this functionality is simply broken. Way to go, Cisco!
