Based on satellite imagery from June to August 2025, my research revealed 58,673 distinct vegetative patches across Calgary, covering a total of 39,009 hectares. However, exactly 50% of the city's total green cover is concentrated in just 44 large megaclusters. The remaining half is dispersed across tens of thousands of tiny, highly fragmented patches.

Bayern missbraucht Urheberrecht gegen Open-Data
Missbrauch des Urheberrechts kennen wir schon lange: Axel Springer missbraucht Urheberrecht im Kampf gegen Werbeblocker; auf YouTube werden Urheberrechtsbeschwerden missbräuchlich eingesetzt; der deutsche Staat versucht, Transparenz zu verhindern; Albanien benutzt Urheberrecht für Zensur. Jetzt also auch das Königreich - ähm - der Freistaat #Bayern Das geht so:
Der Staat erfasst Daten, im vorliegenden Fall Geodaten, und macht sie öffentlich erreichbar. Ein Aktivist kopiert die Daten und macht sie auf andere (komfortablere) Weise zugreifbar. A new study from an international research team, including WorldPop at the University of Southampton, introduces the Chinese Multi-Hazard Early Warning Dataset - over one million official warning records (2022–2025) across four administrative levels. The open dataset supports research into risk communication, disaster preparedness and resilience.

El monitor de brechas de información del terremoto en Colombia ahora ofrece un desglose detallado por municipios y ciudades afectadas. Este desglose se obtiene mediante la combinación de datos oficiales, imágenes satelitales, reportes ciudadanos y noticias de prensa. Por ejemplo, se puede consultar la información para Cali, pero también se puede buscar en los 90 municipios con datos disponibles diarios:

Researchers Ted Habermann and Erin Robinson, Ph.D. are taking a closer look at how public datasets measure up to #FAIRdata standards.
Dryad was found to have some of the most complete metadata of the 595 repositories sampled, and was the only major generalist repository in the top 25.
Only three university repositories with a few hundred records apiece boasted more complete metadata.
