@atomicker I heard this today on #OPB when they ran a syndicated piece from #NPR regarding the 'Super El Niño event' (their quotes, not mine). The piece mentioned "while we can't really tell if climate change if affecting this unusually strong El Niño event, we do know that it is unprecedented and will likely have lasting impacts into the next few years."
UM, YEAH WE DO. The science is sound and has been captured in numerous journals and white papers. 🤯

I just sent a an email to #OPB asking them to please stop telemarketing. I've received several calls during the workday now asking for more money. Who gives money based on random phone calls anymore? I only answered the phone because I was expecting a call, and don't enjoy cutting off the volunteer.

Finally got an okay-enough antenna for my HDTV tuner box. Now I'm looking for things to tune into.
I've been out of the over-the-air TV game for a while. I mean, there's #OPB of course, but I can tune into so many mystery (to me) channels.
When I was a kid in the 80s/90's there was some weird/local stuff on broadcast TV, like, one step above cable-access production value (sometimes not even).
Does anyone know of any programs of local/weird stuff that I should check out?

Instead of the usual intro (a mild pitch for support), OPB now starts their audio stream with a link for info about Trump's Republican cuts to their budget, and what the impacts will be.
Republican Nazis are going to destroy everything in their path where they are not met with resistance. This is Stephen Miller's world. We can't imagine the genius in such a gloriously narrow mind as his.

For many years I’ve been helping Josephine Library Community District, a small library district in Southern Oregon.
Their story is quite exceptional. And they’re in a very red area, so they’re always fighting the good fight.
OPB (Oregon’s PBS) ran a wonderful segment on them. It’s about their team, the libraries, and their battle.
