So I just switched ISPs and went from a provider router to my own router.
Odd things on the network. My router could see devices and servers but I couldn't access them from my computer.
Said devices and servers had static IPs.
I entirely missed the default IPs going from 192.168.0.xxx to 192.168.1.xxx with the router switch.
lol
well that and rebooting the router 3 times but youtube kept playing??? cache is fun haha

Me: Starts looking at other zoom levels to get some slightly better (but scaled) replacement tiles
Games Workshop: Yeah, we just screwed that whole area. Sometimes with overlapping tiles at a different zoom, sometimes not!
Looks like only full zoom-out is good on the Old World map. Otherwise you've got what are presumably old tiles from the smaller map still being served! Someone in the web team didn't do a good job of rolling out the new assets 😬

Games Workshop has a scrollable Warhammer Old World map on their theoldworld.com website.
If you want it as one huge image then all you need is wget and ImageMagick 7 (and a quick bit of watching network traffic to work out the ordering of the images!)

Hit that "you should check your #backups" thing today.
Found backups hadn't been running for a while. Fixed it. Ran overnight. Assumed all was okay. But the test restore had silently failed.
Dig into it. We're using Intelligent Archiving on S3. Snapshots had failed for long enough that some still used blocks are now archived. And so the restore can't access them.

I went back to it the next day and low and behold half of a 40 pin hadn't been soldered at all. #Ooops -

Yesterday morning I was inspired to make a quick batch of ginger molasses cookies before going to work. It’s never a good idea to do a project like that when I am rushing. I preheated the oven forgetting that I had put a tray with a lot of wax on it in there, but I hadn’t put anything under it to catch the wax so let’s just say it was very stinky and messy for a while. Had to have the windows open despite the 20 F weather (-7 C). #Ooops
