  1. Shits crazy over here, lots of hail and the power (atleast to my monitor) went out for a second #onstorm

  2. Looks like a fairly direct hit on the urban core of Ottawa with this tornado warned storm. #onstorm

  3. Almost 50 mm of rain so far in #Ottawa today. IIRC, we were only expecting a couple mm.

Maybe this is the next 100 year storm.

  4. 💧⚡️🔥 It's raining a lot over here today. I would love to tell you how much, but my rain gauge has literally overflown. I guess it's ~50mm. Oh, and the clock tower of our historic library was hit by lightning and set on fire. Some structural damage, but it doesn't look too major thanks to the fire department showing up very quickly. #onstorm

  5. All the major population centres in Southern Ontario are simultaneously rumbling just now.

  6. Sitting in my backyard gazebo, flash and a bang, and I jump out of my seat! Guessing another tree gone, thanks storm. #ONStorm. #ottawa

  7. Amazing the kind of destruction 5 minutes of super strong wind could bring. Hope no one got hurt. Saw a fire truck out and about in our neighbourhood.

One of the downed trees that we saw downtown was alive but the trunk looked holow! Thought it was weird.

In addition to our snapped wire clothesline, two of my poor tomato plants almost snapped. One toppled. But I think they're going to be fine. 🤞

  8. Went out to get food and saw so many trees downed! Half of the town seems to be out of power. We're lucky we only had a few blips. I wouldn't say a tornado went through town but I'd put my money on a downburst.

  9. Hey, a break in the thunder!

Edit: holy crap, one directly overhead! Craaack!

  10. Looks like about pea-sized hail, and stronger winds. Big sheets of water. Hope it fades soon, plants have held up okay so far.

  11. I've never heard thunder that sounded like that before #onstorm
