Zensur? Welche Zensur?
Eine geplante Konferenz zum Thema Zensur an der Weber State University, einer öffentlichen Hochschule in Utah, wurde abgesagt, nachdem die Referenten sich gegen die Anweisung gewehrt hatten, „Gesetze oder Richtlinien nicht in einer Weise zu beschreiben, die eine bestimmte Position einnimmt“. Unterdessen verbot das Hawaii State Public Library System die Verwendung der Begriffe „Zensur“ und „verboten“ in Ausstellungen in öffentlichen Bibliotheken während der Banned Books Weeks (Woche der verbotenen Bücher).
Anerkennung geben, wenn keine Anerkennung gebührt
Die Trump-Regierung hat bei großen Infrastrukturprojekten, darunter Brückenersatzbauten in Connecticut und Maryland, Schilder mit seinem Namen aufgestellt, als wären diese Projekte sein Verdienst. Tatsächlich wurden die Projekte im Rahmen eines von Präsident Biden unterzeichneten Gesetzes aus dem Jahr 2021 finanziert, das Trump vehement abgelehnt und als „Verlust für die USA” bezeichnet hatte.

US-Verteidigungsminister Pete Hegseth in einer Rede vor Militärführern: „Wir geben unseren Soldaten freie Hand, um die Feinde unseres Landes einzuschüchtern, zu demoralisieren, zu jagen und zu töten. I have always failed to understand why someone found the design of the American pedestrian lights smart.
I mean it shows a white walking man for a few seconds and then a red stop-hand with a countdown.
Any UX designer would say that the red stop hand and countdown implies that you need to stop for x seconds before walking ....but noooo - like many other "American standards" its completely oppositeand means that you can walk until the countdown is done.
