  1. Something I probably should've done a while ago, but I finally set up two-factor authentication on my Mastodon account.

The process was super smooth and it works perfectly. Highly recommend!

  8. Most people still think of VPNs and antivirus as two separate categories.
NordVPN is betting that distinction no longer reflects how cyberattacks actually work.
    technadu.com/nordvpn-next-gene

The company has announced a broader digital security strategy that places its next-generation antivirus technology alongside its VPN service, identity monitoring tools, and threat protection capabilities.

The shift comes as phishing campaigns, scam websites, credential theft, account takeovers, and social engineering attacks continue to outpace many traditional malware-based threats. According to NordVPN, modern users increasingly need protection from risks that don't necessarily involve downloading a malicious file...

  12. I had a person inform me that they support Facebook claiming they got the best security in the industry. But, yet they let hackers and cloners run on their infrastructure unimpeded while preventing legal owners of accounts from regaining access and suspending access to make a new accounts because you claim they violated your ToS. You won’t do the right thing, even after validating their Drivers License. That’s real security right there!!

China is cracking down on scam networks but mostly when Chinese citizens are the victims. The result isn’t less fraud globally, just a shift: scams targeting Americans and other foreigners have surged over 40% in the US within a year.
