Hi, I'm very insteresting in the experience of #oneplus6t with #postmarketos. Can anyone tell me about battery (how many hours), calls, gps or accelerometers (automatic rotation), what branch (v25.12 or edge) for daily use?

También he estado mirando como cambiar la batería y aunque no "parece difícil" no sé si sabría.

I've followed an article to setup #docker on #PostmarketOS on #oneplus6t but I can't start Docker like stated.

The error message when running "sudo systemctl start docker" is just simply
"Failed to start Docker Application Container Engine."

Any idea how to solve this?

This evening I planned to install *something* on my old #oneplus6t - Postmark or ubuntu or something.
everything I can find has a starting point of "downgrade Oxygen to 9.something" and then links to some bullshit hosting site that errors out.

How do people not loose their minds trying messing with this stuff? Where does one find quality firmware downloads?

The start wasn't promising. It took about 2 minutes for the device to pinpoint my location via GPS.

After that slow start, it was smooth sailing. GPS tracking was very precise and comparable to OsmAnd. Although while stationary the GPS isn't the most accurate, I can confirm that once moving, navigation works perfectly.

If you want to use the device to make phone calls, than #pixel3a. If you just want to try out and play with #postmarketOS, I would recommend #oneplus6 or #oneplus6t

@senderolinux Thank for that info. I don't actually use unencrypted voice calls, just need 4G. The real issue is the carrier kicking your device off the network where 3G is disabled. Here's the rubbish photo I took to test the camera app in postmarketOS running on a OnePlus 6T. The hardware is definitely capable of better. Reminded me of the early days of analogue colour photography. Not to be mean about PMOS, as I expect that in time it will get much better, although perhaps too slowly to be much use to this old phone.

On the upside, logging on to Mastodon via Firefox has been as easy as it should be.

I've been wanting to try out postmarketOS on my old phone (a OnePlus 6T) for a while now, but kept putting it off because I expected it would require a lot of time and fiddling. It didn't! Breakfast experiment was to flash PMOS, using the UBports installer. This was very quick and easy, although turned out not to be the best way to do it. (1/n)

While i am working on $dayjob i can start a compilation of some changes i made to #BitRitter over the past days.
Compiling it on my phone, to get the full experience, takes around 10-15 minutes in `--release` mode on my #OnePlus6t, so it can run while i do my normal work.

No bug changes, just cleaning up deprecated widgets and stuff.

My #OnePlus6t is slowly losing battery capacity that i do not get a workday of battery. Thinking of using it as my development device for #LinuxMobile.
Which phone would have mainline support earlier?
Thinking about #Fairphone 5, #SHIFT6mq. Any phone i am mising. Sadly camera is a must-have for me, so i guess i need to stay on Android for some time?

After the #librem5 with #gnome and the #oneplus6t with #gnomemobile , i install #postmarketos on a #samsung galaxy grand prime with #plasmamobile on emmc. The device has 8Go and i have 2.5go free after installation. Some little glitch screen but it is ok for use.
Now i need to found a nice tablet to tris it again

Flashing the latest #weekly to my today recieved #oneplus6t of #mobian results in a black screen at bootup. Tried the workaround with #abootimg but still just a black screen.
The #mobian 12 image (not weekly) at least boots, but can not be upgraded since afterwards the phone is cursed with a #bootloop to #fastboot

Anyone any ideas?
