in the mid of last night/this morning. was going to quickly #sync #iphone to #mac, then i'd be so ready for bed. but strangely now the sync would hang at step 2; i waited patiently and it just wouldn't advance to the next step, and i tried it twice. usually it'd take me a couple more trials before i'd go online for answers but i went ahead and found a solution that actually works! who would've thought it's related to #applewatch!? big thanks. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/syncing-stuck-on-step-2-on-mac-merged.2406326/
