No. We need to learn to treat this planet with respect first. Once we’ve mastered the art of being good custodians, then, and only then, might we earn the right to colonise other far away places.

Alexander Maclaren, Baptist minister, and bible commentator, writes on story of Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). The depth of your faith is suspect if you ignore the cry of the poor. But while the passage talks of hell for the rich man here, Maclaren invokes a natural law argument. If you ignore typhus and cholera, your own family may fall ill.
Can we look out for the suffering around us, and not just wall ourselves off from them?

I may have been confused by One Humanity: the Doom II single-level wad that Romero released last year to raise money to support the people of Ukraine and the humanitarian efforts of the Irish Red Cross. That level was also fantastic, and I would love to see more of that.
