The #BCNDP & #GovernmentOfCanada are both still trying to criminalize environmental & #IndigenousSovereignty activism. The #BCgovernment created #RCMPCIRG in 2017 to crackdown on protestors. They are strictly a corporate mercenaries branch serving industry interests not public interests. Citizens tax monies are being exploited by BC NDP to pay these militarized thugs to commit violence so #ecocide corporations can profit more.*

Is #Canada at a point of no return, suffering the effects of #ClimateChange and worsening #wildfire seasons? Two controversial pipelines, the #TransMountain Expansion Project #TMX and #CoastalGasLink #CGL are being expanded and threatening the natural home of historically oppressed First Nations in Canada. But several First Nations are leading the fight against these massive #pipelines and becoming key advocates for protecting #nature from climate change.

Being a #LandDefender comes at a cost: harassment, detentions by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
#RCMP and threats from private security. But, in the face of setbacks, these #Indigenous #activists press on: “We are still fighting. This dance is not over yet.” In this episode, we hear the stories of the #IndigenousCommunities on the receiving end of these huge pipelines and their fight for the protection of both humans and nature.

This beautiful, ancient yellow #cedar tree has a massive, moss covered trunk. It is estimated at over 500 years old. There are very few #ElderTrees of this scale found outside of protected parks on Southern Vancouver Island now. The few remaining unprotected old growth forest tracts should be conserved for stability & longevity of our wild, ancient ecosystems & for the future generations to enjoy/admire/study.

The need to protect old growth forests has been the case for decades but even more important in present times because of accelerated climate change & the increased greedy desperation of corporate ecociders & our governments who aid/abet the pillaging which destroys wild environments that are essential for humans to sustain our lives on Earth. Valuable medicines are found & several medicines have yet to be found in these old growth, coastal temperate, wild rainforests. We need to protect these ancient forests for the above listed & many more important reasons.

My nature & ancient trees loving heart breaks, every time I see more clearcut deforestation. With the rapid acceleration of climate change, our foolish, greedy, short-sighted government continues to accept dirty deals with ecocidal corporations - going against public interests. Men who kill elder trees, are men who kill their children's futures.
Souls must be disconnected from nature & their spirits desperate for money, for them to be OK destroying #OldGrowth forests, for a temporary paycheque.
There are more ethical ways to earn a living.

Government tells us to not fret, that they're managing #forestry better - they're #greedy, #sellout #LIARS. You can go see for yourself, how many clearcuts are still happening on big scales, at several places across Vancouver Island & some parts of BC interior where greedy corporations are decimating the last inland #TemperateRainforest in the world. Our #neoliberal BC NDP government is OK with ongoing mass ecocide - they get money from industry lobbyists 🤑🤮😡
