One UI 9 Watch Beta Program for the Galaxy Watch8 is now open!
The Galaxy Watch8 series was released last year with One UI 8 Watch as the default software, based on Wear OS 6. This wearable series provides you with new features, such as Antioxidant Index and Vascular Load.
While Samsung was working on One UI 9 Watch for the Galaxy Watch8 series which has entered testing since a month ago, new builds for the Galaxy Watch8 and the Watch Ultra have been spotted as the One UI 9 Watch Beta is still being prepared.
Starting from today, the Galaxy Watch8 series has officially started its beta program for One UI 9.0, with the first beta build being spotted for this smartwatch series by Tarun Vats.
The following firmware builds have been spotted:
Samsung has opened the beta program, and you can join the beta program through Samsung Members if your watch, your region, and your carrier is eligible. It’s expected to be available in both the US and Korea only, with Bluetooth and LTE versions being eligible for participation in the beta program, accordong to the rollout history. T-Mobile is the only participating carrier in the US.
You can participate to the Beta Program using Samsung Members on your phone using either a beta banner or the “Beta Program” page. In order to participate, follow these steps:
- Ensure that your Galaxy Watch and your phone are both from the USA (XAA) or Korea (KOO) to ensure maximum compatibility
- On your phone, open Settings > About phone > Software information, and look for “Service provider software version”. Make sure it contains XAA or KOO.
- On your watch, unlock Developer settings by opening Settings > About > Software information and tapping “Software version” 4 times, and refer to the second line that contains your watch’s CSC. Make sure it contains XAA or KOO.
- If you’re using the Galaxy Watch in the USA, make sure that you are on the active plan with T-Mobile.
- Open Samsung Members
- Scroll down to Beta Program
- Search for entries like “One UI 9 Watch8 Beta”
- Read the description and follow the steps on the screen
- Press “Join”
- Check for software updates
Please note that this Beta Program is for users to test all aspects of One UI 8 Watch and to report all bugs found.
Make sure that you have stable internet connectivity when downloading the update, as it can be large in size. When installing the update, make sure that your watch is fully charged and in a cold environment to avoid interruptions caused by heat and by low battery. Never interrupt the update installation in any way during the process, or you may face problems later.

NavStar navigation bar hiding issue will be fixed with One UI 9.0
After the release of One UI 8.5, users with NavStar were encountering an issue where the navigation bar wouldn’t hide when using the button hide function, unless the user has pulled down the notification bar. As soon as the notification bar gets pulled, the navigation bar would disappear.
This issue affects phones and tablets, and for tablet users, it’s a bit inconvenient having to pull down the notification bar in order for the navigation bar to disappear, since tablets have large screens.
Good Lock Team from Samsung has now confirmed the issue directly through Samsung Members that the issue will be fixed through a software update to One UI 9.0, which contains fixes related to this issue.
SourceHowever, the stable rollout of One UI 9.0 hasn’t started yet, and the beta program is about to expand to other Galaxy devices, such as the Galaxy S24, S25, Z Fold7, Z Fold7, and possibly other devices. Meanwhile, One UI 9.0 is already available in rhe newest foldables that were announced in this summer’s Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event.
To update your Galaxy to One UI 9.0 once the stable rollout begins, follow these steps:
- Open Settings, and navigate to System Update
- Tap on Check for Updates
- Press Download and Install
- Wait until the download and the installation is complete, then press Reboot Now
- Wait until the phone reboots successfully
Make sure that you’re connected to a stable and fast Wi-Fi network to avoid high mobile data fees. Never interrupt the update in any way, or problems could occur later. Make sure that you apply all available updates once you update your phone for maximum stability. An update might take 10 to 20 minutes to apply, depending on the device and the type of the update being applied.

Game Booster+ now supports One UI 9.0!
Samsung is getting Good Lock and its modules to be ready for the upcoming version of One UI 9.0 as you can see in this tracker. This is done to ensure that once all Good Lock modules get full support for One UI 9.0, all of them should work properly by the official rollout of the new software.
The Game Booster+ Good Lock module has been finally updated to support One UI 9.0, with Samsung having finished adding support for One UI 9.0 to all Good Lock modules, which will be distributed soon to those who are running the beta version and to those who are using the Galaxy Z8 foldable series.
According to Kailash, the new app version is under v2.0.00.33 and runs on One UI 9.0. Once the stable version rolls out, this module will be available to all users who are using the official One UI 9.0 software.
However, a key feature seems to be missing, which was the key remapping option from Game Booster+.
Game Booster+ provides you with an ability to optimize your gaming experience on your phone with settings like key remapping, CPU and GPU settings, and much more.
