One UI 9 Watch Beta is coming soon for the Galaxy Watch6

The Galaxy Watch6 series was released in 2023 with One UI 5 Watch as the default software, based on Wear OS 4. This wearable series provides you with new features.

While Samsung was working on One UI 9 Watch for the Galaxy Watch6 series which has entered testing, new builds for the Galaxy Watch6 have been spotted, which suggest that One UI 9 Watch Beta is going to start in the next few weeks.

According to the testing servers in Korea, the Galaxy Watch6 series is getting ready for the next stage of testing. Alfatürk has spotted the first internal beta build being spotted for this smartwatch series.

The following firmware builds have been spotted:

• SM-R960: R960XXU2ZZI1 [KOO]
• SM-R950: R950XXU2ZZI1 [KOO]
• SM-R940: R940XXU2ZZI1 [KOO]
• SM-R930: R930XXU2ZZI1 [KOO]

Currently, there are no beta builds for the above smartwatch series yet, but if Samsung has opened the beta program, you will be able to join the beta program through Samsung Members if your watch, your region, and your carrier is eligible. It’s expected to be available in both the US and Korea, with Bluetooth and LTE versions being eligible for participation in the beta program, accordong to the rollout history. T-Mobile is the only participating carrier in the US.

The Galaxy S26 FE is now available for retail purchase!

One UI 9 Watch Beta Program for the Galaxy Watch7 is now open!

Earlier, Samsung opened the One UI 9.0 Watch Beta Program for the Galaxy Watch8 for users in the US and in Korea to try out the new One UI Watch version, which was already released to the Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 revealed this year.

While Samsung was working on One UI 9 Watch for the Galaxy Watch7 series, they opened the beta program. Starting from today, the Galaxy Watch8 series has officially started its beta program for One UI 9.0 according to a report made by Android Sage.

The following firmware builds may have been selected:

• SM-L310: L310XXU2ZZH3 [KOO]
• SM-L300: L300XXU2ZZH3 [KOO]

Samsung has opened the beta program, and you can join the beta program through Samsung Members if your watch, your region, and your carrier is eligible. It’s expected to be available in both the US and Korea only, with Bluetooth and LTE versions being eligible for participation in the beta program, accordong to the rollout history. T-Mobile is the only participating carrier in the US.

You can participate to the Beta Program using Samsung Members on your phone using either a beta banner or the “Beta Program” page. In order to participate, follow these steps:

1. Ensure that your Galaxy Watch and your phone are both from the USA (XAA) or Korea (KOO) to ensure maximum compatibility
   • On your phone, open Settings > About phone > Software information, and look for “Service provider software version”. Make sure it contains XAA or KOO.
   • On your watch, unlock Developer settings by opening Settings > About > Software information and tapping “Software version” 4 times, and refer to the second line that contains your watch’s CSC. Make sure it contains XAA or KOO.
   • If you’re using the Galaxy Watch in the USA, make sure that you are on the active plan with T-Mobile.
2. Open Samsung Members
3. Scroll down to Beta Program
4. Search for entries like “One UI 9 Watch7 Beta”
5. Read the description and follow the steps on the screen
6. Press “Join”
7. Check for software updates

Please note that this Beta Program is for users to test all aspects of One UI 9 Watch and to report all bugs found.

Make sure that you have stable internet connectivity when downloading the update, as it can be large in size. When installing the update, make sure that your watch is fully charged and in a cold environment to avoid interruptions caused by heat and by low battery. Never interrupt the update installation in any way during the process, or you may face problems later.

One UI 9.0 Changelogs [Beta, Galaxy S25]

Samsung has recently opened the beta program for One UI 9.0 earlier today for the Galaxy S25 users in eligible countries. This version of One UI 9.0 is a rather minor version, with one major feature focusing on changes related to the Quick Panel, and an upgrade to Android 17 to be released this year with Gemini Intelligence.

The beta program is now running for the Galaxy S25. Here are the changes that were made to the software (source):

More customizable quick panel

You can now rearrange and customize the controls in your quick panel even more than before. You can change the size of the brightness and volume sliders as well as the media player. You can also separate the sound mode button from the volume slider.

Samsung DeX enhancements

It’s easier to move an app window from one desktop to another using the menu at the top of the window. Desktop previews are now available at the top of the Recents screen, making it easier to switch with a single tap.

Do more with notes

The new Tape feature in Samsung Notes lets you cover parts of your note with tape and reveal them when needed. A variety of new pen styles have also been added, giving you even more options for writing and drawing.

Location access transparency

Stay on top of your location privacy. A blue indicator will appear at the top of the screen when an app accesses your location. Tap the indicator in the quick panel to see which app it is.

Discover new Accessibility features

Check the What’s new menu in Accessibility settings to learn about and try the latest Accessibility features for your Galaxy.

Text spotlight for easier reading

Need a closer look? Tap any text on the screen to show it enlarged and highlighted in its own window. You can also customize the font size, colors, and other settings to match your preferences.

Physical keyboard shortcuts

Use shortcuts on your physical keyboard to access the Accessibility settings you need without touching the screen.

Mouse keys enhancements

New options are available when using your keyboard for mouse interactions including speed and acceleration control. You can also use the keyboard’s number pad to point and click.

Replace swipe with single tap

The Replace swipe with single tap option is now located on the Dexterity and interaction menu instead of the Assistant menu for easier access.

Select to speak

Get quick audio readouts without turning on full TalkBack. With the new Select to speak feature, you can select an item on your screen, like text or an image, and hear it read or described out loud.

Improved TalkBack updates

Through continuous collaboration, Samsung and Google’s TalkBack features have been unified. TalkBack updates can now be applied with a simple app update from the Play Store.

To join the Beta Program, you must have the latest version of Samsung Members installed. You can get the latest version through either the Galaxy Store or the Play Store. Once done, you should be able to join the program if you have an eligible device.
