Aliás, ainda sobre o papo dos outliners e da "perda de embalo" nos conteúdos sobre #Linux no desktop: isso não começou por acaso. Eu estava dando uma olhada em alguns nomes consagrados de aplicativos para #macOS, uma plataforma que não utilizo e, a partir do #OmniOutliner, decidi fazer um rápido passeio.

Acabei descobrindo ainda que o Nisus Writer está abandonado desde o final de 2024 e que o autor provavelmente já está com mais de 80 anos de idade, bem como que a empresa já não parece estar mais operando.

O que me leva para outro ponto: o desktop deu uma esfriada no geral. O #Windows esfriou: qual foi o último grande aplicativo? Talvez o pacote da #Affinity, originalmente pensado para Macintosh, e hoje de propriedade da mesma empresa que desenvolve o Canva?

Se, por um lado, o Linux no desktop ficou mais viável graças à perda de hegemonia do Windows e o crescimento de SaaS oferecidos via Web, por outro, também me parece que ela tem afetado não apenas o Windows, mas desktops como um todo.

Eu acredito que vivemos um momento de hibridismo no desktop, contudo, ainda não sei se estou plenamente confortável com ele (não que eu tenha escolha), mesmo sabendo ponderar os prós e contras.

I haven't jumped on the #Obsidian or #Notion bandwagon. I write in #BBEdit, #OmniOutliner, Apple Notes, #nvUltra and #1Writer. Each has its use. I link all the information with Hookmark. Hookmark's linking is much more general than Obsidian's

Just love how @curioustommy keeps working on #Darling. If some day I could run #OmniOutliner 3 on my Linux machines I‘d give a party where eveyone had to show up wearing a turtleneck sweater and we‘d eat carrots all the time.

I feel like i need to explore the scripting abilities of #OmniOutliner . I think the the document interface feels dated, but I could use it as a framework for tracking my charges.

I wish it had an interface more like #DraftsApp or #AppleNotes where I could access documents much more quickly.

If I could use it to access an API, lots of my issues could be overlooked.

#Dynalist gets some #outlining basics right and is available cross-platform (webapp). https://dynalist.io/ However, it does not feel anywhere as intuitive and structured as #OmniOutliner.

The one #MacOS-only software that I still miss after over a decade on #Linux is #OmniOutliner. It’s such a simple little #outlining tool that works great with my brain. I have yet to find anything that even comes close to it.

18 years ago I bought a black Intel MacBook (the only MacBook I bought for myself so far). It accompanied me through my years of studies of humanities. It seems it and its set of applications (especially #OmniOutliner, #TeXShop, #Zotero) became some kind of intellectual home to me.

This week I decided I could comfort myself with that feeling of a digital home again and bought a MacBook again. Of course it’s a second-hand one, refurbished by the good people at https://afbshop.de

@kcase @OmniGroup Is there any news about fixing Quick Look in #macOS 15 #Sequoia for #OmniPlan, #OmniGraffle, and #OmniOutliner?

I really miss it while working with my documents in #DEVONthink, which relies on Quick Look to view things it doesn't already know how to display.

I LOVE #OmniFocus , but it is super lacking in its ability to take notes on a tasks or project. It's a hard problem to solve, but i think it would be awesome if we could use #OmniOutliner in a more integrated fashion.

To rectify this, I use #hookmark to join a project and an #AppleNotes note. Hookmark allows bidrectional links, so it's super easy to go back and forth.

I then created two top level folders, Work, and Personal. these each have perspectives indicating ... 1/2.

With WWDC now in our rear-view mirror, it's time to share our plans for the rest of the year! We're continuing full steam ahead on OmniFocus 4 and OmniGraffle 8. And peering even further ahead, we look forward to bringing all of our products to Apple's new spatial computing platform!
