A Dutch engineer has reconstructed, using academic sources and historical maps, the road map that connected the Roman Empire.
The result, accessible from any browser, including on a mobile phone, lets users plot routes between ancient cities and find out how many days the journey would have taken on foot or on horseback 2000 years ago.

The omnesviae.org container kept restarting when managed via docker compose in a systemd service.
Systemd assumed the process had stopped because docker compose up -d exits immediately after starting containers. Switching to docker run ensured systemd properly tracked the container.

Omnesviae.org now uses correct Latin when a trip takes just one day.

The roman route planner OmnesViae.org now (again) shows an estimate of the duration and length of your trip.
e.g. "Longitudo itineris est CXLIX milia passuum, quod iter sex diebus confici potest."
