One of Olney, Illinois’ white squirrels spotted while Finn-Ray and I were out for a walk around Olney City Park this evening. We saw about 5 of them all together in different spots; this one was the most photogenic, meaning that it didn’t immediately run behind a tree. #OlneyWhiteSquirrel #OlneyIllinois #KE0FFT

June 7th, 2024 is #NationalDonutDay, as I learned when I walked into Daylight Donuts in #OlneyIllinois - the absolute best place to get donuts and apple fritters in town. I was there for an apple fritter myself, but I didn’t turn down the free glazed donut.

We dodged a bullet in Olney, Illinois tonight. We were under a tornado warning for awhile, but the main thrusts of the incoming storms diverged to the north and south and mostly passed us by; though we did have a burst of high winds, lightning strikes and heavy rainfall for a bit. #RadarOmegaApp #ILwx #OlneyIllinois #OlneyIllinoisWeather

Due to our work schedules, we had our Thanksgiving dinner with friends last night (Friday night). I had never seen anything quite like this sundog / halo display that we witnessed just as everyone was arriving at our place. Olney City Park today. It’s a shame that I didn’t get the focus right on the first pic. I really like the composition of that photo otherwise. First time I’ve had that camera out of its case since 2019! These are two different #squirrels. First one was across the street to the northwest of the stage. Because it’s off the beaten path, not quite on the main strip, & we never though to ask... we only just discovered this week that #OlneyIL actually has a #BowlingAlley. Not a tiny bowling alley - it’s actually a pretty good sized one - & totally retro. This one’s been here since 1975; the same family has been running one locally since the 1950’s. #Bowling #OlneyIllinois #SkunkTracksBlog
