Gdy wczoraj dowiedziałem się o śmierci Alberta Pyuna, zrobiło mi się bardzo przykro. Nie napiszę, że byłem zrozpaczony, czy coś w ten deseń, bo przecież nie znaliśmy się, a i napływające od lat wieści o jego stanie zdrowia na to przygotowywały. Poczułem jednak coś więcej niż zwykły żal po śmierci osoby, którą znało się i ceniło ze względu na jej dorobek artystyczny.

A to dlatego, że twórczość Pyuna towarzyszyła mi od lat, właściwie od początku świadomego interesowania się kinem (przypadającego mniej więcej na środek licbazy), i miałem do niej osobisty stosunek, tym cieplejszy, że niewiele osób z mojego otoczenia (czy też: kilku otoczeń) podzielało moją fascynację tą postacią. Obstawiam, że teraz pojawi się w przestrzeni medialnej trochę osób twierdzących, że one Pyuna zawsze szanowały i ceniły, ale ja mam na to kwity.

Mój stosunek do Pyuna był (i w sumie wciąż jest) o tyle osobliwy, że nie widziałem wszystkich jego filmów, nie czytałem też wszystkiego, ani nawet wąskiego wycinka tego, co z nim związane, nie jestem więc żadnym Pyunologiem, ale gdybym miał wskazać twórców, którzy w jakimś stopniu ukształtowali moje myślenie o kinie, Pyun byłby jednym z nich. Sądzę nawet, że wymieniłbym go w pierwszej dziesiątce – jako twórcę, który jako pierwszy uzmysłowił mi sens poszukiwania pereł w rynsztoku.

Nie wiem, czy Pyun jest postacią na tyle nośną medialnie, by teraz nastąpił wysyp rekomendacji, co z jego dorobku warto obejrzeć. Na szczęście, mając niszowe kanały, mogę mieć w nosie, co jest, a co nie jest nośne medialnie, i zamieścić tu rekomendację połączoną z przestrogą. Raczej dla osób, które z twórczością Pyuna nie miały wcześniej do czynienia.

Rekomendacja jest taka: weźcie obejrzyjcie "Nemezis" ("Nemesis", 1992). Czop-czop i bez gadania. Jeśli macie elementarny RiGCz, to się Wam spodoba. A komu się nie spodoba, ten trąba. Albo trąbica. Albo trąbx.

Przestroga wygląda natomiast tak: unikajcie rzeczy z XXI wieku, bo choć zdarzają się wśród nich pozycje ciekawe – jak "Left for Dead" (2007) czy "Inwazja" ("Invasion" aka "Infection", 2005) – to nie są to filmy, od których chcecie zacząć przygodę z Pyunem. Bo ta szybko by się zakończyła.

Podobno ludzie lubią listy, więc poniżej zamieszczam moje Top5 filmów Pyuna poza "Nemezis", w kolejności produkcji.

To Top5 z tego tygodnia, więc nie traktujcie go jako wiążącego – gdybym tę listę układał w przyszłym tygodniu, pewnie wyglądałaby inaczej, albo od razu poszedłbym w Top10. To filmy ulubione, niekoniecznie najlepsze czy nawet dobre, bo nawet ja nie jestem w stanie w takich kategoriach wybronić "Eliminatora".

1. "Miecz i czarnoksiężnik" ("The Sword and the Sorcerer", 1982).
2. "Radioaktywne sny" ("Radioactive Dreams", 1985).
3. "Cyborg" (1989)
4. "Eliminator" ("Heatseeker", 1995)
5. "Ostra broń" ("Mean Guns", 1997).

Nie wierzę w życie po śmierci, więc nie będę wypisywał tu głodnych kawałków, że Pyun może teraz w zaświadach ogarniać z Godardem wspólny projekt czy czegoś w ten deseń. Napiszę tylko, że Pyun dał światu überzajebisty film i przynajmniej kilka naprawdę fajnych, a to więcej niż można napisać o wielu reżyserach. I choć nie mógł tego wiedzieć, dostarczył sporo radości pewnemu typowi z Polski, za co zostanie w jego pamięci.

Na grafice okładka polskiego VHS-a z "Nemezis" (z niespełnioną wróżbą odnośnie do kariery Oliviera Grunera).
