@arduino @arduino I can’t but think about #Olivetti, when I visited the production site of #Arduino. This #OlivettiM20 and this Arduino #Nano were fabricated at a mere 5 km of distance, albeit 40 years apart. The world has changed entirely, but I like to see that something related to electronics remains deeply linked to #Ivrea.

If you don't know the #OlivettiM20, it was a relatively original personal computer that was put on the market in 1982 by Olivetti. It was based on the #Z8001 processor, a rather peculiar choice and ran the #PCOS operating system, made by Olivetti. The Alternate Processor Board (APB) sported an 8086 and allowed to run #MSDOS 2.0. I built my APB thanks to the help of Salvatore Paxia, who designed it. Among the other things, I maintain since 2005 a website dedicated to the #OlivettiM20, a very interesting machine based on the Zilog #Z8001 that appeared on the market just a few months after the IBM 5150. Today in my home you'll find: all the #Amstrad CPCs, an #AmstradPCW, a #MegaPC, #Atari 65XE,130XE,800XL, a #C64 and a #C128, #Amiga 600 and 1200, a couple of #MSX and #ZXSpectrum, some obscure ones like #OlivettiM20, old AT PCs, old laptops, printers, a #PowerMac and... a ps5.

I should do, or even redo sometime in the future, an #introduction finally.
