  1. I started 2026 with a small update to the #OlivettiM20 website: a new manual in Italian is available, called Compendio istruzioni: BASIC & PCOS, many thanks to Antonio Busi: z80ne.com/m20/index.php?argume #Retrocomputing #Olivetti

  2. I updated the website dedicated to the #OlivettiM20 computer: this time I put together a small page dedicated to Heiko Schuman's YouTube videos: z80ne.com/m20/index.php?argume #retrocomputing #Olivetti

  3. I continue updating the #OlivettiM20 #manuals page with four other documents: OLIWORD Textverarbeitung Anwender Handbuch November 1983, OLIWORD 2 The M20 Word Processing Package User Guide First Edition September 1983, OLINUM Numerical Analysis User Guide July 1982 and PCOS 2.0 Professional Computer Operating System Betriebssystem Benutzer Handbuch 1984. Many thanks to Heiko Schumann. z80ne.com/m20/index.php?argume #retrocomputing #Olivetti

  4. Three other M20 manuals by Heiko Schumann are available: the MS-DOS Disk Operating System User Guide, ISAM Indexsequentieller Dateizugriff Programmierhandbuch and OLICOM Batch Terminal Emulationen Benutzerhandbuch

I love those drawings on the covers. Here is a very busy man with a lovely Olivetti M20. It was truly a stylish computer!

  5. Added three other manuals to the #OlivettiM20 website, once again thanks to Heiko Schumann: Added the FAKTURIERSYSTEM manual, , CBASIC-86 Language Refernce Manual, BASIC Language Reference Manual fourth edition June 1983. #retrocomputing #manuals #z8001 #Olivetti

  6. @arduino @arduino I can’t but think about #Olivetti, when I visited the production site of #Arduino. This #OlivettiM20 and this Arduino #Nano were fabricated at a mere 5 km of distance, albeit 40 years apart. The world has changed entirely, but I like to see that something related to electronics remains deeply linked to #Ivrea.

  7. I worked on the HTML and CSS of the #OlivettiM20 website. It was a work that really was due! The site should now be much easier to visit from a mobile device such a smartphone. On the other hand, it still keeps the vintage look that became a sort of a trademark: z80ne.com/m20/index.php #retrocomputing #olivetti #html #css #webdev

  8. I updated the page about the #OlivettiM20 firmware on the M20 website. It is fun to update something that I originally wrote in 2006. The world was quite different, back then!#retrocomputing z80ne.com/m20/index.php?argume

  9. If you don't know the #OlivettiM20, it was a relatively original personal computer that was put on the market in 1982 by Olivetti. It was based on the #Z8001 processor, a rather peculiar choice and ran the #PCOS operating system, made by Olivetti. The Alternate Processor Board (APB) sported an 8086 and allowed to run #MSDOS 2.0. I built my APB thanks to the help of Salvatore Paxia, who designed it. If you need more info about the M20, here is an article I wrote about it: z80ne.com/m20/sections/press/r

  10. It’s fun to see that th MS-DOS version of Silk Dust works very nicely on the #OlivettiM20 with the APB and MS-DOS 2.0.

  11. Let’s give a try to this MS-DOS stuff the fancy kids in my class brag about all the time 🙂 #OlivettiM20

  12. By the way many told me about the easter egg with the little spider crossing the screen that you get with Command+S at the boot screen, but it was absent in the 1.0 firmware. So now here it is! #OlivettiM20

  13. Everything remains silent 🤔 It should ask if I want to use the alternate processor. On the positive side, there’s no smoke in sight 😅 #OlivettiM20

  14. First step: install and solder the sockets for the integrated circuits: done! #olivettim20

  15. I added another page to the #OlivettiM20 website, this time dedicated to the Scott Baker's videos about it, that are amazing: z80ne.com/m20/index.php?argume. I now want to build an 8086 alternate processor card for my M20 😊

  16. I visited a few days ago an exposition at the Centre Pompidou in #Paris. At one moment there was an interesting retrospective with a picture on an #OlivettiM20 and many #Minitel terminals. I loved it!

  17. I restructured the page about the manuals in the #OlivettiM20 website. There are now 41 manuals available, divided in categories: z80ne.com/m20/index.php?argume #retrocomputing

  18. Thanks to the contribution of friends devoted to sharing information about the #OlivettiM20, I put online new manuals and material about that computer. I am especially excited about the high resolution scans of the original Olivetti #schematics: z80ne.com/m20/index.php?argume #retrocomputing

  19. I had some time today and I updated the #OlivettiM20 website. I realized it looks so old that is almost cute 🤣Added a few manuals, corrected hundreds of typos, dead links, etc… z80ne.com/m20/
