#Olio is an app to fight food waste. It let's you find food that would otherwise go off, give food, but also things.

As the goal is decent, I was willing to overlook some of the bad, starting with it not being FOSS.

A few years ago, the web version of the service was killed off. Hmm.

Then, they introduced selling items, which rather went against the initial idea of the platform.

Now, there's a classic / illegal "consent" screen when you open the app, and it's *bad*. (Classically illegal?)

Getting time to harvest my first crop! - Posted to Olio app for food give away / food swap.

Olio isn't as active here in the states, but it works really well for peer-to-peer food swapping!

If no one snags this within the week, I'll donate them to the local food bank.

Just found out our local Critical Mass organiser works for a huge student accommodation provider. He's recycling mountains of left behind houseware & electronics every year through Olio, despite the company dragging their feet about doing it officially. Legend!

Mi scrive un amico: " tempo fa ero in attesa del mio volo a Malpensa e stavo curiosando tra i negozi per i turisti: tra le tante cose in vendita, c'erano pure le latte da mezzo litro e da un litro di olio extravergine.

Peccato che uno a Malpensa si aspetti di acquistare un prodotto italiano, mentre in realtà la provenienza delle olive era "di origine UE".
