  1. Yesterday, I just wanted to pop round to a friend’s place for a brief visit. Instead, we ended up playing #HeroesofMightandMagic: #OldenEra! We called it a day before the final battle. It was just like the old days, sitting together in front of his computer, and it was brilliant!! #games

  2. Finished the campaign's Act 1 (which is what's available in the Early Access) yesterday. The difficulty drops considerably after the 3rd mission and the game becomes less challenging once you figure out the basic game loop. Very addictive gameplay too, looking forward for more.

  3. Je voudrais vraiment aimer ce #HoMM #OldenEra mais le chara design des unités me rebute quand même pas mal.

  4. the surprise long weekend holiday here in Thailand ruined my plans so just played the new Heroes Might and Magic: Olden Era game and napped 😌 Hadn't had such a lazy cozy rest in a while

  5. The new Heroes game (Olden Era) needs some polish, but you can already see that they did an amazing job on gameplay QoL stuff, like buttons to “split in half” and “split evenly into all slots”.
I also do like the smallish but very crowded maps, you don’t need to ride days between mines and other locations.
And they’re releasing patches all of the time too

  6. I got into closed playtests of a #MighandMagic game and rumour has it it's not #OldenEra... but it seems based solely on the game having open beta. Dune: Awakening had closed test after open, so it's not uncommon. It'd also make dense release schedule. Thoughts?

  7. It was still fun through! The AI is dumb in weird ways, but we're early days. Over all I am very excited to eventually play this with friends.

Oh, also plays flawless on Linux(Proton) day 1.👍

  8. I do think the simple systems of Heroes 2&3 needed a little more to it, but over all it was well done. It was simple and easy to understand.

FIRE specialty make fire magic better, AIR helped AIR. All spells were available to all casters, just the cost and damage changed. If you didn't understand the details, magic wasn't useless, just less effective.

Adding complexity too this is good, but this makes my head spin. A middle ground would probably be better.

  9. Mage Guild Spell unlock? (I have to buy the Guild level AND the spells, not a fan. This slows my brain to a crawl as I have to learn scads of new spells then choose between them)

Mastery of different schools of magic. (There's a lot of rules, exceptions, and modifiers here. Could be ok? Could be overly complex)

This gets to be a bit much. I assume a new player will have a stroke.

  10. It does seem to be much more complex of a game, as there's several separate systems.

Hero leveling and skills (Solid implementation)
Castle Building (Seems good as always)
Faction leveling ? (I 100% missed this for 1/2 of the game, not sure how I feel about this)
Unit ability charge ups (I think these are ok, tbd)

  11. Got a chance to play Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era today. It's in Beta/Demo, but so far it's looking pretty good.

The new unit selection makes it a bit complex vs previous versions, but given the reduced number of castles it balances out. (That said I'd love more castles if it was just a binary choice)

  12. A *few* rounds of #homm #oldenera later it’s 3am :akko_blush:

  13. A lot of people are complaining how #homm #oldenera has graphics like a mobile game, while to me it just looks like a very nice modern interpretation of #homm3 graphics
