This is a mystery, and someone may know. This is a stone walled outhouse from over 100 years ago. That wall has a neat (or at least “deliberate”) rectangular hole. Behind the hole are two air bricks. But the whole lot is under ground, it is soil behind this bricks. But a large chunk of wood was poked in to that hole, bolted to another bit and going diagonally to the adjacent wall, just resting there. The old Byre is coming along nicely. The heritage builders are doing a great job despite the rain. Reclaimed Welsh slates will be used for the roof and the previous stone tiles will be used as flagstones for the floor area.
