🐔 The Chicken Ruckus spielen Oldtime- und Folk aus Leib und Seele. Ihre Songs und Tunes wurzeln im Südosten der USA, wo sich zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts irisches und englisches Liedgut mit dem afroamerikanischen Blues vermischte. Begleitet von Banjo, Mandoline, Fiddle und Bassgitarre singen The Chicken Ruckus von den kühlen Bergen und den wilden Küsten, von der Arbeit am Gleis und in den Kohlenminen, über die Liebe, das Leben, den Tod und was auch immer danach kommen mag.
Jeder Auftritt von The Chicken Ruckus ist zugleich roh und wohlklingend, wird mit Leidenschaft vorgetragen und berührt garantiert jedes Publikum tief im Inneren, wenn es nicht vorher von den stampfenden Rhythmen und den knackigen Basslinien mitgerissen und davongetragen wird.

In April of 2025 Rhiannon Giddens reunited with her former Carolina Chocolate Drops bandmate Justin Robinson to release “What Did the Blackbird Say to the Crow.” It's an album of old-time and string band music filled with traditional Appalachian and North Carolina tunes. Fantastic and a must-hear for #bleugrass, #OldTime, #fiddle, #banjo, and #Americana music fans.
