The newest one I have is the last of @cstross ' #Laundry novels, The Regicide Report.
I don't know if you are ready up in that series, I think this is good so far but probably not an ideal entry point.#ArtificialNoodle is slightly but amusing.
#Scalzi's #OldMansWar series has another one out, a reasonable continuation. The first one was another good effort at a response to #StarshipTroopers the #Heinlein book not film, and to #Haldeman 's #TheForeverWar

I've been reading @scalzi 's latest Old Man's War book, "The Shattering Peace". It's fantastic. I wasn't even sure I was going to buy it - the last few OMW books were less compelling to me, and I felt maybe it'd run its course, at least for me.
A funny thing about this book is that it is in addition to being a return-to-form for the OMW books, a kind of call back to one of Scalzi's earlier works that I really enjoyed, that being "The Android's Dream". I apparently really like kick-ass tales of space diplomats with unexpected talents.

Just got back from seeing @scalzi at the Poisoned Pen bookstore up in Scottsdale for the release of The Shattering Peace, it’s technically out tomorrow but they got special approval from Tor to sell it a day early!

Been reading the Old Man’s War series, by @scalzi, over the past few weeks and really enjoying them. Just finished “Zoe’s Tale”, which I think was my favorite one, so far. Heard that there’s a movie adaptation in the works for the first book! Really hope that comes to fruition!

Author John Scalzi came to the Medina County District Library tonight to present his master class on sustainable super villainy and his best selling manual, Starter Villain.
Scalzi Written, Tyrion ApprovedIt was an entertaining and captivating hour hearing John answer questions and tell series about his writing, both what he’s written and the process itself.
I’m actually distracted by the backdrop for our selfie.I’m looking forward to John’s next book coming out in 2025, When The Moon Hits Your Eye, as well as the seventh installment in the Old Man’s War series later next year.

One thing about #SciFi stories that greatly affects their plots is the way they implement faster than light travel (FTL). Think about the differences between warp drive (#StatTrek), jumpgates (#Babylon5), guild navigators (#Dune), skip drive (#OldMansWar).

In every novel by @scalzi, there's a sentence he clearly prepared for a chapter or two
like naming characters only to make that one punchline 3 chapters later
I'm still not sure if I'm reading those books because or despite of those lines.

I'm halway through @scalzis "The Human Division" (kind of part 5 of #OldMansWar) and now I want a hardish-#SciFi TV-series based on that.
Depicting the adventures of Captain Coloma, Wilson and Schmidt on the Clarke, the oldest ship in the whole CDF fleet.

Just started on the third and last book in #TheInterdependency trilogy by #JohnScalzi, also known for books like #Redshirts (yes, #trekkies) and #OldMansWar. It's an excellent #scifi story about the end of the known universe, deliciously read be a swearing #WilWheaton.

@kyonshi I'm not sure, I'm still digging into it. About half way down where they an audience member mentions @scalzi #OldMansWar where older veterans could still contribute, these guys don't skip a beat.
"Why can't we increase the longevity of military service?" (Direct quote).
That, coupled with the #luciddreaming story and we're halfway between Jeter's /Noir/ and 40K's Dreadnoughts shouting "Even in death I serve".

Just transferred all the data from my S21 Ultra to my new S23 Ultra and for a brief moment, it reminded me of a certain moment in @scalzi's #OldMansWar series of (incredible) novels. Of course, it'd spoil the story to say more than that.
