How about if you're in a locked ward and medicated to stop violent behaviour and you 're saying things like, "My life is over", "You don't want to know" in reply to "How are you?", and 'I can't find anything to kill myself with in here"?
Want yourself resuscitated/CPR or to have life extending treatments in such a situation?

I'm seeing Linus Torvalds support for AI as a possible sign of cognitive impairment.
Even if so it might AIUI take another 20 years before his functioning is clearly inadequate.
But it's something worth considering about every aging human. And with old age beginning at 60 Linus is on the edge of that now.

Deep into the second series of the fabulous HBO Max medical drama, The Pitt, this line popped out from a character & I wanted to share it for its wisdom & poignancy:
'While every old person knows what it is like to be young, no young person can know what it is like to be old...'
That is not only a truism, but its a really instructive way of understanding the trouble that society often has with ensuring our older members have the best life they can....

The tea cools again,

haste left long ago. -
I haven’t had an organised fight for maybe ten years now. Then Covid hit. Had all the vaccines, which saved my life. Really!
But - My cardio is shot to hell. My muscles shrank. I got stiff and less mobile.
I need to get back in shape. Lost around 2 stones this year, closer to my fight weight, but more fat than muscle there imo.
Too old for ring fighting now (full contact muay thai - I doubt the club insurance would cover me) but hoping to get fit enough to train and at least spar again.
It’s weird how I don’t feel as confident on the street any more. If I got into trouble now I would be forced to hospitalise or kill assailants, since I can’t last long enough to just embarrass the idiots like I used to.
I’m sure the forces of law and order would prefer me not to create casualties, so this is for society’s benefit too. 😇

On Steam it was called Space Hulk (Classic). Still it's not the classic Space Hulk game from 1993 which is apprently impossible to get anymore. (I seem to have misplaced my cd-rom version and I'm not sure how easy it'd be to get to run anyway.)
Yeah yeah it's almost 35 years old.
