  1. People following #USpol with Trump grift in mind would do well, at this time, to put full focus on #OKpol due to the gubernatorial run-off election coming up shortly in August for a number of reasons, not the least of which is #Trump doing ad buys to promote the opponent of #GetnerDrummond (current OK Attorney General) which also means paying close attention to his pet project of an #AluminumSmelter in Inola, a town of about 2,000. Drummond filed a lawsuit against the project.

If you think that data centers make enormous demands on electricity, compare that to the demands placed on them for smelting aluminum, as it's the only way to smelt aluminum effectively.

Runoff election ads have focused on this issue, and in the process appeals to MAGA Oklahoma's anti-foreigner sentiment which goes beyond illegal immigration--the smelter is foreign-owned and an effective campaign plank is to be against Chinese ownership of OK land, an issue preceding the smelter issue, and which grew in scope with the expansion of illegal marijuana grows (and busts) in the state. This means that Oklahoma voters are already pre-disposed to be against foreign ownership of any smelter, and Trump seems to be betting that his influence over Oklahoma voters is powerful enough to overcome that.

Me, I seriously doubt that, but this is what makes the OK run-off election next month worthy of close scrutiny.

Levelbot was saying that cuteness levels were critical, and I guess it must have looked at the pol ad by some chucklehead named Sterling in Oklahoma. It said twice that he's "a Trump outsider". It looks like it's Dan Sterling who already occupies the OK House District 27 seat, expires in November, so he's running for REelection, which makes him an insider, and it definitely makes this too cute by a lot less than half.

This has been your WTF Moment in Oklahoma politics.

  3. I really dislike how Charles McCall's attack ads against Getner Drummond are making the best possible argument in favor of Getner Drummond.

Especially when the only thing that separates McCall and Drummond is Drummond appears to occasionally demonstrate having a conscious.

  4. Charlie Kirk was a proudly racist, overtly sexist hater of LGBT people and Oklahoma Republicans want to require all colleges in the state to build a memorial plaza to him describing him as a "civil rights leader" or face state punishment. This is yet another obscenity.

What the actual fucking shit?! Governor Stitt-for-brains wants to remove the ability for Oklahomans to independently elect statewide officials so he can directly appoint them instead?! Yeah no. Hard fucking pass.

  7. Not to be petty, but the neighbors put up a big #TFG banner in their yard and the duct tape holding it up has failed on day 3 and I think it's awesome.

Meanwhile our #HarrisWalz sign has been joined by another about a block away.

  11. It's days like today that make me realize that the late nights, tight deadlines, and fast paced life that is the news world might just be worth it.

I'm proud of what my team pulled off today. We acted quick, worked efficiently, and got information out to the people of Oklahoma that they deserve to know. Thank you to everyone else on the TDP team, I'm honored to be a part of something wonderful.

  12. I'm beyond appalled.

"After Hardin and Stephens responded, Woods said that while his 'heart goes out' regarding the teen's death, he represents a constituency.
'We are a Republican state – supermajority – in the House and Senate. I represent a constituency that doesn't want that filth in Oklahoma,' Woods said."
