Po paru dniach wracam do tematu #OKI, przesłuchałem podcast SII i jestem zdania, że to jest sensowny sposób dla wielu "zwykłych" ludzi, bo 100 tys. bez podatku to nie jest mało. A podobno jest to (lepsza) kopia rozwiązania szwedzkiego, które tam ma 40% dorosłych.
Pytanie jak to będzie wyglądało w szczegółach i czy będzie promowane.

I am trying to print some stickers of a glossy a4 paper. Using direct print via web page, I have problems with print quality, as shown on the scan attached (top and bottom row).
Attached are also screenshots with parameters I believe relevant.This is not a commercial job - we do digital printing gratis for various activist groups. Please help us get the best quality possible for them.

Having a complete hoot getting an old but surprisingly functional #OKI #MicroLine3320 #DotMatrix #Printer working with my #Atari800. It prints single lines beautifully, but it doesn't line feed on reaching the #ATASCII line ending
0x9B.Looks like I need to configure the printer to understand the non-standard Atari linefeed. Let's see if that's possible!

Grml. Meine #Hardware #Probleme reißen leider nicht ab. Nachdem mein #OKI Laserdrucker, der seit vielen Jahren einen hervorragenden Dienst geleistet hat, komplett mit Magenta eingesaut war und ich den mühsam gereinigt habe, habe ich heute eine neue Kartusche eingesetzt. Erster Ausdruck: Siehe Foto. Geöffnet: Wieder alles eingesaut. Lag wohl nicht wie gehofft an der Kartusche. Ich brauche einen neuen #Drucker. Bis dahin gilt hier das papierlose Büro.

We are printing educational nad agitprop materials for #Queer, #anarchist, #climate and #antifascist #activist groups, who cannot afford (or have their content rejected from) commercial capitalist printshops.

@ThisSideOfThePond @dangillmor @ArrestJK Not sure which side of the pond you’re on, but #Oki/ #Okidata is the only printer maker I could not find any dirt on, but they’ve pulled out of the US market. So in the US, they’re all evil. But I do not mean to detract from #HP. HP is the single most evil of all printer makers. HP is not only anti-consumer & anti-environment, they also help Israel oppress Palestinians.

I'm noticing some problems fetching things from search, searches that appear to fetch something but don't produce the results, results missing, problems finding all results for hashtags, even things i know exist.
Adding precise link URL address in to search, says fetching yet produces no result.

@electrocutie @gsuberland I should also say that #HP is by far the worst of the worst both in terms of politics & anti-consumer shenannigans. I found #Oki at the other end of the spectrum to be Mostly Harmless™, but perhaps for that reason Oki pulled out of the US market… probably could not compete w/all the tricks & traps that the competition exploits quite profitably.

@gsuberland @electrocutie I tracked the tricks and traps of all the printer makers at one point; also looked at politics (e.g. #HP has a contract w/Israel in their effort to oppress Palestinians). #Oki was the only printer I could not find any dirt on, apart from a blurb in their docs about a void warranty if using non-Oki toner. If anyone knows whether Oki has DRM I’d appreciate a heads up.

I prefer not to own a printer at all (it’s better for the environment to cycle to a print shop or library). But OTOH I’ve been unable to find a print shop that uses #Oki printers. So it seems I’m stuffed ethically no matter what.

After some extensive research into the ethics of printer makers, the only manufacturer I didn’t find any significant dirt on was #Oki (aka #Okidata). Sad to see that they’ve shrunk & excluded N.America: https://www.oki.com/us/printing/
