At the #UNSecurityCouncil, Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs #BrunoRodriguez called on the international community to act to prevent the “human catastrophe” that could result from the ongoing energy #blockade and potential #US #military aggression.

Feb. 14, 2026An alliance of progressive advocacy groups announced on Thursday their intention to organize a humanitarian aid flotilla – named the #NuestraAméricaFlotilla – to #Cuba next month amidst increased economic pressure on the island by the #US.
Major groups participating in the flotilla include #ProgressiveInternational, an international left-wing activist organization, and #CodePink, a female-led grassroots peace and social justice group.
The flotilla’s mission has been endorsed by a variety of leading international figures, such as Brazilian activist Thiago Ávila, member of Colombia’s Chamber of Representatives María Fernanda Carrascal and US Congresswoman #RashidaTlaib.
Prominent left-wing American streamer Hasan Piker has confirmed his participation in the project.

Feb 12, 2026Members of #ProgressiveInternational, #CodePink, and other direct action and advocacy groups plan to set sail for #Cuba next month in the #NuestraAméricaFlotilla, which they said is inspired by the Global Sumud Flotilla missions to break Israel’s illegal blockade of #Gaza amid the ongoing genocide in the Palestinian exclave.
“We are sailing to #Cuba, bringing critical humanitarian aid for its people,” the flotilla organizers said on their website. “The #Trump administration is strangling the island, cutting off fuel, flights, and critical supplies for survival. The consequences are lethal, for newborns and parents, for the elderly and the sick.”
