  6. Video - What Cubans Want to Say About Life in Cuba Today
    peertube.world/w/vra3kseN9RJCE
    Duration - 5:16

    [a #video on #Peertube about #Cuba from the #news collective #BellyOfTheBeast]

What does this moment in Cuba mean to the people living through it?

For photographer Moník Molinet, the answer begins with a pause: asking people to stop, reflect, and write down the words that honestly describe their lives. In #Havana, amid an increasingly severe social and economic crisis fueled by suffocating #US sanctions, she invited people to put their own words to the moment they are living through.

These are their words. Their voices. Their moment.

Words for This Moment is a photographic project by Moník Molinet, created in Havana in July, 2026. The project is a series of 50 portraits, created in collaboration with Belly of the Beast.

  11. Action Alert - Call US Senators to vote Yes on the War Powers Resolution - Hands Off Cuba!
[taken from a post on a WhatsApp group chat]

The Cuba War Powers resolution is coming to the floor Tuesday the 28th. Call your Senators and tell them to vote YES on S.J. Res 124, to prevent war on Cuba (202) 224-3121. This is the single most important thing you can do for Cuba. Even if you have a Republican Senator, please please call: this is a winnable vote and I don’t think I have to tell you how bad it would be if the #US invades #Cuba.

Spread this to your chapter, to your caucus, your normie friends, all your group chats. All hands on deck!

by Carlos Fernández de Cossío, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of #Cuba.
    xcancel.com/EmbaCubaUS/status/

    Feb. 26, 2026

Yesterday, our authorities reported an attempted infiltration for terrorist purposes involving 10 individuals aboard a vessel registered in Florida, US.

From the very outset, upon determining that the vessel had departed from US territory, Cuban authorities have maintained communication with their US counterparts—including the Department of State and the Coast Guard—regarding this terrorist attempt. An investigation is currently underway to fully clarify the facts with the utmost rigor. The Cuban government is willing to exchange information with the US government concerning this incident.

Among other requests, we will ask the #US authorities...for information about the individuals involved, the vessel used, among other details.
